Interview with Ken Tucker of the “Ken Tucker” Band

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

  1. Welcome to Kick Acts Ken Tucker. Tell us a little about yourself and your band and were you can be with found at on the web.

I’m originally from Sullivan, Indiana. I’m married and have three children and a grandchild.  After high school, I attended Indiana State University where I earned a degree in Art Education. But that wasn’t enough, so I decided to become a professional wrestler. I eventually reached 650 pounds, and I toured around the country in one developmental league or another. Eventually, I realized I was feeling the Blues – actually the Black and Blue marks all over my body. Read more…

Van Halen added 18 more dates and still no Evansville…

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Van Halen recently added 18 more shows to their current tour. Once again they will be all over this area and Van Halen will be coming to Ft. Wayne Indiana to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum that was built in 1952… What gives? I am going to have to give up on the Evansville Ford center. I think Ford stands for “Fluff only, Rock’s Denied”. If anyone can think of a better acronym, send it to me at chuck@kickacts.com. The Evansville concert season is really sucking…Van Halen is one of the biggest shows this year to see. They should have named the Ford center the “Desert” since it lacks entertainment.

R.I.P. Dick Clark an Amercian Legend

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Dick Clark, the creator of “American Bandstand” and “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” died Wednesday morning, his rep tells FoxNews.com.

He was 82.

Clark suffered a massive heart attack after entering  St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica Tuesday night for an outpatient procedure, according to his family.

Attempts to resuscitate were unsuccessful.

Clark had suffered a stroke in 2004, which forced him to significantly curtail his hosting of “New Years’ Rockin’ Eve,” a show he created in 1972.

Long dubbed “the world’s oldest teenager” because of his boyish appearance, Clark was also a successful businessman. He created a variety of popular game shows and music specials, including the American Music Awards.

But it was “American Bandstand” for which Clark was best known. The show was one of network TV’s longest-running series, airing as part of ABC’s daytime lineup from 1957 to 1987.

Over the years, “Bandstand” introduced stars ranging from Buddy Holly to Michael Jackson to Madonna.

Clark is survived by his wife Kari and his three children, RAC, Duane and Cindy.

ACCEPT “StalinGrad” streaming audio

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

ACCEPT…

The first time I heard this band was way back in the eighties. My friend and former Iced Earth drummer Rodney Beasley had ACCEPT‘s album “Fast as a Shark”. It sounded like a mechanized machine! Their sound was unlike any other thing that I had heard at the time. Two guitars that complimented each other just like Judas Priest but with a unique metal sound, almost like machine gun fire. That album was awesome then the follow up album “Balls to the Wall” pushed them over the top. Clearly their time had came.

And here we are years later. Udo has left ACCEPT but the new singer Mark Tornillo is ever bit the singer Udo is and is carrying the torch for metal everywhere. I just wish America wasn’t so caught up in the sugar coated fake pop stuff that’s everywhere and bring back those metal days. I guess the generation before me can say the same about “The Beetles”. But the metal era was my era.

Enjoy the new ACCEPT. It kicks some major butt. It sounds a little like “Balls to the Wall” and Metallica’s “From Whom the Bell Tolls” but it’s metal through and through!!

HORNS UP!! \m/ \m/

Axl Rose’s Response to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame issue

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Axl Rose Released this and asked that the media print it in it entirety. Actually its not bad.

from Blabbermouth:

The unedited statement reads:

“To: Cleveland, Ohio, Guns N’ Roses Fans and everyone who’s shown support for my decision regarding the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

“I seriously didn’t plan on or expect the overwhelmingly positive response and public support for my decision regarding the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. With such a generous outpouring of solidarity from fans, media outlets, writers and other artists, I’m truly humbled, blown away and unbelievably relieved! To be honest, Read more…

Uncle Ted and the Obama’s Secret Service…Uh oh

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Watch out Uncle Ted. The “SS” Secret Service is now looking at you for what you said at the NRA convention. I read the transcript and get it. You were simply saying Obama needs to go in 2012. However it looks like you will be thrown to the dogs…This coming on the heels of the embarassement the “SS” Secret Service is dealing with now so they will probably make you an example.

I have to agree with you though, he needs to go. Go by getting voted out just like you meant.

Henderson’s Tri-fest is this weekend…So what day is it gonna rain?

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Tri-festThe Tri-Fest. Aw, I remember fun times as a young teenager going to the three day downtown festival full of rides and good food. I had a blast riding the “Zipper” and going through the cheesy but entertaining haunted house.

As I got older and got married and had kids, ok, not in that order but why should you care anyway? We always took our kids to the Tri-fest in order for them to enjoy the rides, games and food too. Now our kids are taking their kids and it seems every year my gold fish pond gets new gold fish as the grand kids win them in the ping pong tossing game. “Moby” the white goldfish has been in there now for about 3 years and he too was won at the ping pong table. Good times and memories  continue to carry on in this tradition…

Which leads me to the next tradition. Not really a complaint but more of an observance. It rains at least one day out of the three almost every year. Its either on a Friday and it starts about the time the rides and food booths open up or it rains all day Sunday when the kids can get bracelets and special deals on the kiddie rides. Or we have to deal with another weather issue. It’s too cold to have little ones out.

Which leads to another question. Why don’t or why won’t the “City” leaders move the tri-fest to a later date? Is there some magical reason it can’t be changed? One or two weeks would make a world of difference in the weather…

Even as I write this I am checking the forecast for this weekend and here it is…Scattered Thunderstorms on Friday so that’s a bust already. Saturday’s forecast isn’t any better. T-showers and a High of 59 degrees. So we got the rain and the cold weather all in one that day for a double whammy… Sunny and 61 degrees on Sunday…

So anyway… Bundle up. Wear a rain coat and go out and support one of the few things Hendo allows young people to enjoy…It’s for a good cause too.

Tupac comes back to life in 2D.

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0
This new Tupac video is incredible. You don’t have to be a fan of Rap music to appreciate this video. Just turn down the speakers and watch the interaction. For those of you that don’t know, Tupac was gunned down 16 years ago in Las Vegas after attending a Tyson fight. It’s always been an “urban Legend” that Tupac wasn’t killed and he, like Elvis, ditched fame and fortune and just disappeared into the unknown to live a secluded safer  lifestyle.
So check out the video. If you have tender ears be prepared for unedited “gangster” street language… other than that….Enjoy.

My kids were big fans of Tupac’s back in the day…

Tupac lives on in Digital.
