Robert Plant, a change of heart?
Robert Plant hints he’d be open to a Led Zeppelin reunion
Led Zeppelin in 1973.
After their tantalizing one-off gig in 2007, Robert Plant has hinted that he’s open to a Led Zeppelin reunion next year. Speaking to Australia’s version of “60 Minutes,” the singer deflected the notion that he’s the reason for Zeppelin’s dormancy.
“[Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones] are Capricorns. They don’t say a word. They’re quite contained in their own worlds and they leave it to me,” said Plant. “I’m not the bad guy . . . You need to see the Capricorns – I’ve got nothing to do in 2014.”

Finally I have been writing again (finally) and hope to follow up the Calling Corners with a new EP soon! May be CC, may be something completely new. Other musicians on album are still TBD though……but there have been talks……

Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and your band and were you can be found at on the web.
Collette SplitVision: We’re SplitVision & GreatGrandpa a Duo from Sweden. We started off in June 2011 after I discovered that the Government had withheld information about me having the wrong father. It came like a chock and since I always used to write songs it was natural to me letting everything out in a song, our first song “Identity”.
The song just came to me when I was driving. As soon as I came home I started playing and singing not wanting to loose the idea. Then I called GreatGrandpa and sang the song in the telephone for him. When I visited him the next time he had rearranged his livingroom into a studio with microphones. Then he turned on the stereo and played the back ground for me. I was overwhelmed and we started recording my song right away. Before I left I asked for Native Chant Choir in the solo parts. GreatGrandpa said it would be a problem to get access to those but the next time I came to his studio he surprised me with Native chants he had made himself and it was much better result than what I had in mind.
GreatGrandpa finished recording the song and asked if I had more songs. The Duo SplitVision & GreatGrandpa was born in june 2011.

Who are your musical heroes, influences & why?
Collette SplitVision: We’re mostly influenced by The Great Spirit. We have so many influences and in this production we let the songs set the style. GreatGrandpa comes up with strange and funny ideas such as SambaReggae (¿Soy Cubana?) or a BluegrassCalypso (Hadrin Blues). It’s quite easy recording to his backgrounds since I feel they help me telling the story. The artists that attracts us has to be honest and natural.
I’m fan of Tracy Chapman, Janis Joplin, Patti Smith, RL Burnside, John Lee Hooker, Miss Lee (Sweden), Jonathan Richman, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Johnson, Robbie Robertson, Buffy St Marie, Bob Marley, Ray Cooder, Jimi Cliff, Peter Tosh, Cesario Evora and John Mellencamp and and and…
GreatGrandpa: I listen to music that moves me I don’t like musik that’s trying to impress. My favourite artists are: Louis Armstrong, John Coltraine, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Shirley Ali Farka Thouré, Bob Marley, Sonny Boy Williamsson, Elmore James, Louisisana Red, Ravi Shankar, Peps Persson from Sweden, Oscar Brown Junior among others. I like folk music from all over the world.
We are both very moved by Billie Holliday.
Figure all this together is among our influences.
Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in playing music? Any pitfalls they should avoid?
Collette SplitVision: To work with music – writing songs and perform you have to be honest. Don’t try to show off. You’re supposed to touch peoples hearth and the best way is to relax, don’t push the voice, be focused in the songs. You must belive in and mean what you sing.
When you record you have to be prepared for some long sessions so you have to be passionate about it. Never let anything just pass. Listen to your guts they’ll tell you. Try to reach 110% of your capacity and put your whole hearth and soul into it.
Do you have a greatest gig story you’d like to share?
Collette SplitVision: Since I just started I hope the greatest gig is yet to come.
On the same token as the above question. How about a “worse gig” ever story.
Collette SplitVision: Haven’t experienced that either and I hope I never will.
Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music? Collect stamps? Collect hats from off the side of the road? Draw pictures of boobs?
Collette SplitVision: I used to have other interests. I was very much into photographing when I had that as a proffession. I really enjoyed making posters and ads, logos etc for some years as well. Today I put music on the front row more than ever and other interests are weaved into this. I don’t need other interests – you can experience all parts of life through music.
GreatGrandpa: I have dedicated all my life to music since I started 1951. I like to grow and photgraph flowers in my spare time.
What do you think about the present music scene or lack of? Care to address that?
Collette SplitVision: The music industry is definetely hurt. I know skilled, talented and experienced musicians who are playing pub gigs for less than 100 dollars/person. No one seems to know how this should be solved. I believe that hardly anyone buys music on the internet. No one buys CD’s either unless there is some media about it. People seem to be streaming music on the internet – for free. I like that music is accessable to everyone on the internet but if musicians can’t sell their music there must be some other payments for artists and musicians. The only good thing about it is that more musicians are out playing pub gigs although it’s almost for free – hopefully they sell some CD’s. It’s complicated.
Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear… Like their hobbies or something like that…
Collette SplitVision: I allready revelied that GreatGrandpa is a flower freak. He also collect elephant figures. I love to go out on boat trips with my plastic open boat. I need to be near the Islands and the Baltic Sea.
Hypothetical situation. You’re stranded on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the girls… Is it Ginger, Mary Ann or Mrs. Howell and why?
Collette SplitVision: I’ve seen Gilligan’s when I lived in Canada a whole bunch of years ago. Don’t remember the caracters but I think we’ll take care of ourselves on that Island – All of them seems pretty freaked out, if I remember the story right.
Our last question is called “Shout It Out Loud”. It’s were you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and “SHOUT IT OUT LOUD”!
SplitVision & GreatGrandpa: We want Peace Love & Happiness on this Earth! We all have to unite in Spirit and Fight the Fear!
We wish everyone a Healthy and Harmonic life! We really apreaceate you listening to our music. Thank’s
Thank You Great Spirit!

Chris Dorner and David Koresh
Just finished watching as all this unfolded. First off, not saying the Dorner guy didn’t need to be taken into custody or taken out. He had to be stopped. But as I watched the cabin he had “barricaded” himself into go up into flames I couldn’t help but think I have seen this all before. The police said they wanted it all to end before it got dark. Was it because our fearful leader Obama was scheduled to have his “State of the Union” address to the nation on the same night?
I also wondered why the helicopters weren’t allowed to fly over the cabin during this ordeal. On almost any given day there is a police chase on the airwaves and the police helicopters are right there in the middle of it filming it for the whole world to see. The news even “breaks into regularly scheduled broadcasting” to show it live. But last night the helicopters had to stay away and we could only see what they filmed from a distance.
So where is the Dorner and Koresh similarity? First off, they were wanted by the police. They also had firearms. But that’s not were I am heading. It’s the way they were taken out. It’s like the police or SWAT team has a M.O. for taking no prisoners that are considered a national risk… Think not?
This is from FOXNEWS yesterday…
A SWAT team surrounded the cabin and used an armored vehicle to break out the cabin windows, said a law enforcement official who requested anonymity because the investigation was ongoing. The officers then pumped a gas into the cabin and blasted a message over a loudspeaker: “Surrender or come out.”
The armored vehicle then tore down each of the cabin’s four walls.
A single shot was heard inside before the cabin was engulfed in flames, the law enforcement official told The Associated Press.
And David Koresh?
Well we have no video footage of how Chris Dorner was taken down that’s been released yet but we do of David Koresh. The Law enforcement said Chris apparently took his own life and they also said that about David Koresh. But here is the video. David Koresh’s compound/church was also tear gassed, had loud music blasted at it and in the end it was being torn down by a military vehicle and it “caught” fire. Supposedly set on fire by Koresh or some of his followers..
Chris Dorner wrote a manifesto about why he did what he did. It’s a pretty interesting read if I do say so myself. He had enough of the law being above the law for one…
Here are the first few paragraphs of it. He addressed it to “America”…

I know most of you who personally know me are in disbelief to hear from media reports that I am suspected of committing such horrendous murders and have taken drastic and shocking actions in the last couple of days. You are saying to yourself that this is completely out of character of the man you knew who always wore a smile wherever he was seen. I know I will be villified by the LAPD and the media.
-
Unfortunately, this is a necessary evil that I do not enjoy but must partake and complete for substantial change to occur within the LAPD and reclaim my name. The department has not changed since the Rampart and Rodney King days. It has gotten worse. The consent decree should never have been lifted. The only thing that has evolved from the consent decree is those officers involved in the Rampart scandal and Rodney King incidents have since promoted to supervisor, commanders, and command staff, and executive positions.
-
The question is, what would you do to clear your name?
-
Name;
-
A word or set of words by which a person, animal, place, or thing is known, addressed, or referred to.
-
Name Synonyms;
-
reputation, title, appellation, denomination, repute.
-
A name is more than just a noun, verb, or adjective. It’s your life, your legacy, your journey, sacrifices, and everything you’ve worked hard for every day of your life as and adolescent, young adult and adult. Don’t let anybody tarnish it when you know you’ve live up to your own set of ethics and personal ethos.
-
In 8/07 I reported an officer (Ofcr. Teresa Evans/now a Sergeant), for kicking a suspect (excessive force) during a Use of Force while I was assigned as a patrol officer at LAPD’s Harbor Division. While cuffing the suspect, (Christopher Gettler), Evans kicked the suspect twice in the chest and once in the face. The kick to the face left a visible injury on the left cheek below the eye. Unfortunately after reporting it to supervisors and investigated by PSB (internal affairs investigator Det. Villanueva/Gallegos), nothing was done. I had broken their supposed “Blue Line”.
