Kevin Spacey brings Carol Burnett to tears!

As a kid I watched the Carol Burnett show every week. Those skits are priceless! She, along with Tim Conway and Harvey Korman where unstoppable! She is a living legend and the younger people these days have no idea what they missed. TV was so different than it is today.

Carol Burnett’s idol was the late great Jimmy Stewart. In Kevin’s own special way, he impersonated Jimmy Stewart and read Carol a poem. Watch the video. It’s awesome! It’s the feel good video for the day!

belln-300x225The first time I saw Otto was when I was adding Facebook friends and his profile jumped up in the suggested friends thing . His profile picture reminded me of a cross between Jerry Lewis, Buddy Holly and Elvis Costello so I clicked on it. I read thru his posts and found him to be an interesting person so I shot him a private message and asked if he would allow me to interview him. He said yes I could. That was in October of 2011. Though we never met in real life we developed an internet friendship and I started adding other features about Otto. He shared his families pizza crust recipe. He shared his childhood Christmas stories about getting a bike and other things. He checked in from time to time and we kept in touch. When I did a follow up story about him, he had just received word he had cancer….Otto laid it all out in the open. Always Optimistic. He was forth coming about his treatments and progress. He didn’t hold anything back.

He checked in with me on my birthday. He didn’t press “1” on his phone like we all do to put the “fake” happy birthday notice on someone’s facebook page…He PM’d me this instead.

happy birthday good buddy , you’ve really helped me feel good for years

He got better at first and then the cancer came back. I followed his blog. I tried to remember as best as I could the 11:11 good vibe thing he asked for. When I did, I asked the Lord to be with him. We touched bases briefly in 2014 but I knew he was hurting so I didn’t bother him much. I, along with many of his friends posted good thoughts and encouragements to him. He was always thankful for the “food Angels” that helped him with purchasing food.

I awoke this morning and Otto crossed my mind again. Not sure why at first but now I know why. I had recently read where he was in lot of pain and his pain meds weren’t helping. I went to Otto’s Facebook page today and saw were he had passed away yesterday. 🙁 I feel very sad. Otto lost the fight. Or did he? He gave it his best shot. Probably fought harder than most of us could. He gave encouragement to us when he really needed encouragement himself from us. Folks, that’s not a selfish person. I only knew him via the internet and will miss him. To those of you that knew him in real life, I have no doubt you have lost one helluva a gentle kind man.

Otto, though a comedian in real life made us laugh. He left us with a world’s worth of wisdom. This was his motto. He lived it. We should too.

“BE NICE to as many people as you can. It’s absolutely free. I’ll be nice to you, and you’ll be nice to me. Just like tag – if we start tonight, tomorrow with be a better world.”

For all the interviews/videos and Christmas stories he shared with the readers and me. See the links below. God Bless and R.I.P. Otto.

sincerely,

Chuck

blazing-saddles_612x380 Quite possibly one, if not the funniest offensive movies of all time! (Well, unless it’s cut up and edited for normal TV then it’s the worst edited and cut up movie of all time…It never gets old! If you are offended…So be it…Mel Brooks is a comedic genius! The famous Richard Pryor helped write the scrip and oversaw the use of the “N” word too! You can’t beat a good fart/radical racial/ white bread/black country cowboy/ and  gay fight movie all rolled up into one! We gotta build that railroad!

The SHERIFF IS  “NEAR”

from EW’s interview with Mel Brooks Richard Pryor helped write the script, and you wanted him to play the sheriff, Bart. What did he bring to the film? I was so lucky to get him, because he’s just funny in every way. He made a profound contribution to that script. He gave me some really beautiful 126th Street, St. Nicholas Ave. [Harlem] lines. I quit for three days because Warner Bros. wouldn’t [let me cast] Richard as Black Bart. Richard came over and said, “If I was the black sheriff, I could pass for Cuban because I’m coffee-colored. Now, this guy Cleavon Little: He’s classy, he has poise, and he’s really charming. But he’s black as coal. He will scare the s - - - out of them.” I said, “Okay, I’m coming back.”

top ten reasons why..

10. Dave, u were more funny hosting the Star land Vocal band than you are now and that was horrible then.

9. Jay, nice car collection but your not funny, nor or your writers, You should be pitching Doritos’s …again..

8. Dave, Paul is funnier, have you heard his monologue for “Day in Rock”?

7. Jay, Jimmie “JJ” Walker called and says you “owe” him…

6. I will give Dave props for giving that little Beiber fag a hard time…

5. Jay, Dave, don’t feel bad, Conan or Jimmy aren’t funny either but Andy Richter is actually funny.

4. Richard Pryor needed his own talk show but couldn’t have one for two reasons, anyone know why?

3. Tim Conway is  funny as hell…

2. Jackie Gleason was funny as hell…

1. The Top ten reason why you guys Jay and Dave aren’t funny? You been at it too long and you have

lost sight of what comedy is…your no longer inspired and just spoon feeding people with “applause signs”…
