To the hottest BatGirl and Barbara Gordon there ever was… ;-(

Watching those reruns of BatMan as a young lad while growing up in the 70’s…We all looked forward to seeing her appearances. She was female Superhero to many.

(CNN)Before Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman, before Joanna Cameron’s Isis, before Scarlett Johannsson’s Black Widow, Yvonne Craig was a pioneer of female superheroes on screen.

As an actress, she originated the role of Batgirl in the 1960s “Batman” television series. As a trained dancer, she did her own stunts.

Craig died this week after a long two-year battle with breast cancer. She was 78.

The cancer metastasized to her liver, and she died Monday in her home in Pacific Palisades.

“She had been in chemo almost continuously for the past two plus years since being diagnosed and that had weakened her immune system as well as her body,” her family said in a statement late Tuesday night.

“This didn’t dampen her sense of humor or her spirit, she intended to fight and win this battle. In the end, her mind still wanted to fight but her body had given up.”

Craig originated the role of Batgirl in the show’s third and final season in 1967, kapowing and zzonking the bad guys alongside Adam West and Burt Ward’s dynamic duo of Batman and Robin.

“I hear from women that I was their role model,” she told CNN in an interview earlier this year. “‘When I was a little girl, I realized that girls could kick butt just like guys,’ [they’d say].”

She also had a memorable role as the green-skinned Orion slave girl Marta who wanted to kill Captain Kirk in a third-season episode of “Star Trek.”

Mr. Spock has C.O.P.D.

mr-spock  One of my favorite TV and cinema characters “Mr. Spock” played by Leonard Nimoy has just tweeted a press release stating he now has the infamous lung disease C.O.P.D. Despite saying he quit smoking over 30 years ago the damage has been done. Just goes to show you that even a Vulcan can’t always heal themselves. It’s a sad day for us Trekkies. His advice to anyone that smokes is simply this…

“quit now”.

And I have to add my two cents  here.

I applaud CVS Caremark (CVS pharmacies) for saying they are stopping the sales of all tobacco products in their stores by October of this year.

In conclusion…

It was  Illogical for Mr. Spock to smoke but he did.

You also have a right to smoke and I don’t believe it should be taken away from you but it has been proven time after time after time (yes that many times) that cigarette smoking is dangerous and deadly to human health. Deadly to those that smoke and deadly to those that are exposed to it. I understand its BIG business but isn’t your health BIG too?. The Tobacco Industry puts additives into the tobacco to keep you coming back like a trained puppet and the Government makes billions off the sales of it but in the end.. You pay twice… Once with your money and second with your health. And really, why would you want to inhale the same chemical (Formaldehyde) they preserve dead people with???

For a huge Star Trek fan such as myself this is pretty freaking cool! If you read through it and watch the video you will learn that the set was literally a week from being destroyed and this guy was able to save it and have it shipped to his house. Now he is wanting to restore it and share it with the world!

heard from any of you guys on the “Away Team” that left the planet to catch up with the Hale Bop comet…Well, actually the spacecraft your faulty leader said was trailing in behind it. It’s a shame you bought into a lie and were fooled by someone like that and you took your own life. That part is serious and nothing funny to laugh about. Your leader obviously was a Star Trek fan and used their terminology to push his evil gains…  But I do have to ask…

Who is maintaining your website and why aren’t there any updates? Your page is so 1997 looking…

click the photograph to go to their site but please don’t get fooled into believing this crap…
