It’s true! Princess Leia shagged Han Solo!

After all these years Carrie Fisher has finally has admitted that her and her co star Harrison Ford did the “Star Wars Nasty” while filming the original movie! I wonder is she wore that slave outfit ( I know it was in the third movie but can a guy dream)?? GRRRRRR;-) Nerds everywhere are brokenhearted but the hero really did get the girl in the end… 🙂

“It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend,” she says.

“I looked over at Harrison. A hero’s face — a few strands of hair fell over his noble, slightly furrowed brow,” she writes. “How could you ask such a shining specimen of a man to be satisfied with the likes of me?

Aerosmith Calling it quits? Here is Steve and Joe on ANN!

From: UltimateClassicRocksteven-tyler-2014-hollywood-film-awards-01

Aerosmith‘s next tour might be the beginning of the end.

The band has announced a run of European dates for the spring and summer of 2017 — a series of shows they’ve dubbed “Aero-Vederci Baby!” and are billing as their “farewell” tour. The news comes several months after singer Steven Tyler publicly suggested that it was “time” for the group to start thinking about getting off the road — although Tyler’s longtime foil and creative sparring partner, guitarist Joe Perry, seemed to disagree.

“It’s one of many things we’ve talked about as a band, but I don’t know if it’s the end,” Perry shrugged in response. “There are still a lot of places we haven’t played yet that we want to play. More to follow – let’s just put it that way.”

It’s worth noting that in the press release announcing the “Aero-Vederci Baby!” dates, the word “farewell” is always surrounded in quotes, and neither Perry nor Tyler seemed to be in a hurry to say goodbye in their quotes for the tour.

Facebook now FightBook? What have we become?

Posted on November 9, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Today. After the Election, it is worse than ever…Agree? Thoughts?

Sad. Very sad. Facebook has become “FightBook”. I try to be funny, post silly stuff, something that makes me laugh or its thought provoking and hopefully never mean spirited.. Occasionally after a few beers (at night) i might get mouthy and then feel bad about it and delete the posts and most times apologize for my actions. However, with all the hate I see on FightBook today, it makes me wonder where we are all going. The new guy (it could have been a girl) isn’t even in Office yet and both sides are drawing lines. Can’t we all just get along? Can we see the good in someone or at least give them a chance? Why must it be our nature to “FIGHT” This is America. Your place and mine. Be my brother or sister, friend and neighbor. You are not my enemy just because we don’t agree on everything. I shouldn’t be labeled by you as your enemy either.#Whycantwebefriends #RepostIfYouwant

A real Henderson Haunting?

HH-page0001Though my Grandpa passed away earlier this year at the age of 95. He always stuck by this story…

This is a true story about my Grandpa and what he said he saw..He lived in the apartment for 14 years and according to him, started seeing ghosts….He told me it was scaring him even though they didn’t harm him……. I have asked him several times after he moved out about this and his story hasn’t changed and he said he hasn’t seen any ghosts at his new place..
I recorded his story back in April of 2010…
Please don’t bother the homeowners, they politely declined P.I.H.K. from investigating this and they probably don’t want to be bothered about it.They were really good to my Grandpa while he lived there…I just want to share what he said he experienced….
The house was built in the 1850’s by Capt. William B. Vanzandt and was once used as a civil war hospital…It has been told that there are still blood stains on some of the window seals….

The story behind the song “American Pie”

Posted on October 19, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

What a great timeless song! The interview is a great piece and a rare look at the real story of how the song came to life!

51pnnojqfl“The big thing that happened was in 1969, I think it was. I had worked my way up and was playing the Newport Folk Festival, which was the biggest thing in the world you could ever do in those days. The Everly Brothers were there, and they put on a sensational rock ‘n’ roll show. They just blew all those folkies right out of their seats. Afterwards, they were standing together, and they seemed very approachable. I went up to Phil Everly and said, “You knew Buddy Holly, right?” He had a little raspy voice—”Yes, I knew Buddy.” He talked like that. I asked him, “So what happened?” He said, “Well, Buddy stayed behind to do his laundry.”

I said to myself, “Oh, my God… ” Suddenly, everything snapped into place. It was like Buddy Holly was a real person. Everything that I had known about him was all fixed in legend, but suddenly I realized he had dirty laundry, and he had to get this plane to catch up with the tour.”

“Why is humanity still so evil in the 21st century?”

Posted on September 23, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

I wish that quote was mine but it isn’t.  In fact, why do we even need to use a quote like that today?

Because over our morning coffee or our commute to work, a false ideology is wiping out people. Oh ISIS isn’t the only ones doing it. It’s everywhere. But they are currently the ones that have floated to the top of the cesspool of a long list of evil in this world. It doesn’t make any sense to me. We are all part of this huge planet and yet we still can’t get along. Most of us hurt instead of heal.We fight with our families, our neighbors, our co workers, the people in traffic, etc. The list goes on and on. Then our world leaders, who are in place to protect us, fight with other world leaders. Like I already said. It just doesn’t make any sense. And why do we do it? I dunno. I don’t have the answers. It will be easy for some to say, it’s Man’s “Sin Nature”. But in reality. That ideology is no different in some aspects as the ISIS beliefs are. Believe like we do or else. When our kids were young, a neighborhood bully was making his rounds. Our son may have been 10 at the time said to me as I was reluctantly showing him how to fight back  said “Dad, I only want to play”…

Speaking of a kid that only wanted to play.

In the story below instead of playing with other kids, She set herself on fire to keep from being raped…

Once again, why does this happen and why do we continue to allow it? No easy answers but it’s got to stop…Agree?

an excerpt:

“Yasmin, 16, who feared another rape, wanted to make herself undesirable, so she doused herself with gasoline and lit a match. Badly burned, she is in a German hospital facing more than 20 surgeries.

“Now she looks like a zombie, and children cry when they see her,” Kizilhan said. “It is so difficult to see what the fire did to her.”

Here is the complete story and what some kind people are doing to help.

Evel Knievel’s Snake River Canyon Jump, Complete !

Posted on September 19, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

wireap_33a9304c405d4d838c081ef17f6a1ce7_16x9_1600I remember as a kid being glued to the television set to watch Evel Knievel attempt to jump the Snake River Canyon. Evel Knievel was one of the many iconic and larger than life size hero’s us seventies kids had the privilege to see. All us neighborhood kids used to jump homemade ramps and tried to be like Evel. Some of us ended up with busted knees but all the same, it was all good.

Evel inspired countless kids of that time to become daredevils themselves. Whether just neighborhood daredevils like us or for some, professional daredevils. Eddie Braun being one. He set out to complete the jump that his childhood hero attempted. Here is his results.

n recent months, Apple has quietly touted the powers of Siri as the perfect digital assistant to help you navigate iOS. However, a tweet on Tuesday, from an official Star Trek-related account, indicates that Siri might soon also get a dose of well-known science fiction.

Specifically, the voice of the computer on Star Trek’s iconic fictional spacecraft, the Enterprise.

Panama City Beach! We came, We saw and We’re heading back!

Posted on August 31, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

This past week my wife and I had a much needed week off so we went to Panama City Beach. We went with my cousin Kathy and her husband Bill. We split the tab on a nice condo at the Gulf Crest Condominiums. A nice 2 bedroom condo on the 23rd floor to be more exact. However, I did notice while on the elevator that there wasn’t a 13th floor. So in reality, its only 22 floors up. The missing floor must have been because of that one Twilight Zone episode or something… But I was secretly hoping to stop on the 13th floor and explore it but the elevator never opened up on it.

When we arrived in Florida early Saturday morning the weather was already nice. The Florida sunshine stayed with us all week. A few rain clouds here and there but for the most part, lots and lots of beautiful SUNSHINE! Back home in the great State of Kentucky it had been raining there almost daily for about two months. We were all way over the rain and needed a break. Kentucky was starting to look like Seattle! We thought we might have to start building a second ark, or is it the 3rd ark? I dunno. But the Florida trip opened up so we packed up and rolled out. BTW, I can pack in 5 minutes. My wife takes a while longer and takes more things. Like a huge 50 lb. carrying bag/tote thingy. My cousin Kathy however, Mrs. Howell is all I am saying! There was no room left in her Durango after she stuffed her luggage in there! Never again will I complain about how much stuff my wife packs!  After I got off work Friday afternoon, Bill drove all night to get us there. We arrived early Saturday morning and thankfully it wasn’t during Spring Break so the traffic wasn’t bad and everyone was calm on the beach. Nothing wrong with being young and having fun but I was needing to gear down and just enjoy life for a few.

We were within walking distance to most places we wanted to visit. The other places we wanted to explore Bill took us. We don’t have an itinerary when we go on vacation. We just kind of wing it and play it all by ear. If we see something that looks interesting, we stop and check it out. My wife loves the beach. There was plenty of beach so that part was taken care of. You could walk out the condo, thru the pool area and voila, the beach! She and Kathy purchased some beach chairs and spent most days down by the water’s edge. Kathy’s husband Bill offered to teach me how to snorkel. I can honestly say it was fun but tiring! I was trying to concentrate on breathing under water without panicking. Swimming while floating on my stomach and trying to keep the waves from going over the top of the snorkel! I did see some fish and some jellyfish too! Bill snorkeled way on out into the deeper water. I think he said it was about 20ft deep where he was at and he stayed out there for a couple of hours. I need more experience and maybe a boat crew before I venture out that far! I barely swam back to the beach swearing I was going to finally get into shape and not the shape I am in!
One day as we were driving down to St. Andrews State park Bill spotted a converted red cargo trailer sitting in a parking lot. The side of the trailer had “Chicago Style Hotdogs”. Bill just had to have one so we whipped into the parking lot. The cargo trailer was permanently sitting in the parking lot on two flat dry rotted tires and converted into a kitchen. It’s a place I wouldn’t normally even stop at but with all the permits and stickers it looked legit enough so Bill and I both bought one. It was a pretty dog gone good  Chicago styled hot dog too! So I learned a lesson there. Never judge a cook by his trailer…

IMG_9590 Another place we saw was the Salt Lick Tavern. 8021 Thomas Drive to be exact. It’s located on the main drag but in the PCB county part of Thomas Drive. The thing that caught our eye was the relaxing deck area out in front. The first time we stopped in there it hadn’t opened for the day yet. It was pretty early in the morning so we made a note to come back later in the day after they were open. A few hours later we went back and went in. The place was a nice tavern. It had a hand made horse shoe shaped bar that a local guy had built for them. The beer was extra cold too! Just how I like it! My wife was impressed with the atmosphere and one of the owners was there running the tavern. Her name was Angela. She was IMG_9581exceptionally friendly and gave us a brief history of the place. They even have a grill/deli area too! My wife had the cheese sticks! The prices were just right and my cousin even bought a shirt there! We liked the place so much we went back a couple of times before we left. Granted we visited in the day time but you can’t but like Salt Lick’s friendly atmosphere and they also give discounts to all Military personnel (active and retired.) So if you are in the PCB area, be sure and stop in and say hello to Angela and tell her Chuck, Denise, Bill and Kathy sent ya!

Enclosing, PCB was a great place to hang and hang with Bill and Kathy! It’s good to let life’s stressful days ease past you for a few days and recharge the batteries. We are already planning our next trip! (In October!)
