Is Gene Simmons still right? Is “Rock Dead?”

“rock is dead”

“There’s every bit as much talent out there as there [was] when we first started, but the new bands have to live in their mother’s basement because they can’t afford to do this full time, because people are just filesharing and downloading,” he continued. “And that’s their prerogative — we allowed it and we haven’t sued everybody’s pants off for doing that. So that’s everybody’s fault — the record company’s fault.”

Steve Adler joins Guns & Roses on stage in Cincinnati!

Steven Adler Rejoins Guns N’ Roses On Stage In Cincinnati –<!–
Drummer Steven Adler rejoined GUNS N’ ROSES on stage earlier tonight (Wednesday, July 6) in Cincinnati, Ohio to perform two songs: “Out Ta Get Me” and “My Michelle”. This marked Adler‘s fist appearance with GN’R since 1990.

Singer Axl Rose introduced the drummer to the Brown Stadium crowd by simply saying: “On the drums, you might know this guy. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Steven Adler.” After playing “Out Ta Get Me”, Axl said: “I guess we should do another.”

Fan-filmed video footage and photos of Adler‘s appearance can be seen below.

The rest of the Cincinnati show featured the same GUNS N’ ROSES lineup that played seven headlining gigs in April, as well as several stadium dates in late June and earlier this month: singer Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan, alongside keyboardist Dizzy Reed, guitarist Richard Fortus and drummer Frank Ferrer. Also appearing with them was second keyboardist Melissa Reese.

A source close to GUNS N’ ROSES told LA Weekly that Adler was having back surgery around the time of GUNS N’ ROSES‘ April 1 concert at The Troubadour, which was the real reason his band ADLER canceled its show at the Whisky A Go Go. The LA Weekly writer claimed that he was also “told [Adler was] not ready to tour with GN’R, not yet, and maybe not ever.”

Fan speculation around the involvement of Adler had been heavy, with some of the bandmembers reportedly not sure whether the drummer, who has a longer history of drug problems than any of the other musicians, could hold it together on the road.

Adler was fired from GUNS N’ ROSES in 1990 for his rampant drug use and replaced by Matt Sorum.

Bullied by “fans comments,” Keith Emerson killed himself

Posted onMarch 14, 2016, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

According to his girlfriend. He was concerned about his playing at his age and having hand issues.

I have seen this time and time again. Musicians are quick to smell blood in the water. The younger ones will say the older ones are too old, need to retire, or say they are no longer “needed” for a lack of better words. I remember reading years ago that the late Del Shannon took his own life because no one wanted to hear anything new he had recorded. They only wanted to hear his two hits…

Here is what Keith Emerson’s girlfriend had to say…

[hmtad name=”Adsense Unit 1″ align=”center”]

from Blabbermouth:

Keith Emerson‘s girlfriend has told U.K.’s Daily Mail that the EMERSON, LAKE & PALMER keyboardist killed himself because he was concerned about the nerve damage to his right hand which had affected his playing.

Mari Kawaguchi found the 71-year-old musician’s dead body around 1:30 a.m. Friday after returning to the apartment they shared in Santa Monica, California. He had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.

“His right hand and arm had given him problems for years,” the 52-year-old Kawaguchi said. “He had an operation a few years ago to take out a bad muscle but the pain and nerve issues in his right hand were getting worse.

“He had concerts coming up in Japan and even though they hired a back-up keyboard player to support him, Keith was worried.

“He read all the criticism online and was a sensitive soul. Last year he played concerts and people posted mean comments such as, ‘I wish he would stop playing.’

“He was tormented with worry that he wouldn’t be good enough. He was planning to retire after Japan.

“He didn’t want to let down his fans. He was a perfectionist and the thought he wouldn’t play perfectly made him depressed, nervous and anxious.”

Ozzy Osbourne and the Alamo kiss and make up

Over 30 years ago a drunken Ozzy dressed in a dress stopped and urinated at the Alamo. I remember it like it was yesterday. He was banned for life after that. But time and a little cash thrown at it heals all things…

According to, Ozzy Osbourne will return to San Antonio, Texas today (Thursday, November 5) to apologize for urinating on the Alamo Cenotaph in 1982. The singer will reportedly visit the monument with his son Jack and a film crew and will tape the whole thing for their new show for the History channel which has been described by Ozzy as “a father-and-son spoof on history.”

“We did get a call,” District 1 Councilman Roberto Treviño said. “Certainly, as a city, we feel very, very good about his efforts to come to our great city and apologize for the actions of a not-so-sober person.”

W.A.S.P. Lyric Video For New Song ‘Scream’

Posted onSeptember 2, 2015, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

I would like to say “hard to believe” but I have to say, isn’t it awesome that Blackie Lawless is still kicking out great music after all this time. I first got turned on to W.AS.P. back in the day when they released songs like “Hellion”, “I wanna Be Somebody”, “Sleeping in the Fire” and “F**k like a Beast”. The metal guitars and Blackie’s vocals cut thru like a knife or as in W.A.S.P.’s logo, a saw blade! It was great music for the angry youth of the day.W.A.S.P. continues to release great music and tours to this day. However Blackie’s heart isn’t so black anymore. His music is still hard hitting and his lyrics are still powerful. W.A.S.P.’s new album is called Golgotha. Make sense? Check out this lyric video and did you get the message.

Def Leppard’s Vivian Campbell on having cancer , He would rather…

“Die On My Feet Than Die On My Knees’

“I do not for one minute believe that this disease will kill me. However, if I happen to be wrong about that, I would much, much rather die on my feet than die on my knees.”

[hmtad name=”Adsense Unit 1″ align=”center”]

“It’s ironic that the most stressful part in all of this has not been dealing with the actual cancer or the treatment, but rather the struggle that I’ve had to endure with my bandmates and management in trying to convince them that this is not only logistically doable for me, but that it’s a big, big part of my recovery. The stress that this has caused me has been immense. Perhaps it’s something that only other cancer patients can comprehend; while everyone else wrongfully assumes it’s ‘best for you to stay in bed and recover,’ the truth is that continuing to live your life the way you want to is the best therapy. Doing so raises a big middle finger, f*ck you to cancer.

Well, Well, Well…Look what the cat drug in.It was bound to happen. It’s your standard bro-country song with some hip hop flavor poured over the top of it for good measure. It makes the poison go down easier. Seems all the 80’s rockstars are headed to Nashville. Who’s next Blackie Lawless???
