We do we go from here? It’s not just the Police but

control It seems as if the whole world has gone mad. We have Police Officers, that are hired to “Protect and Serve” shooting innocent people including the most recent guy in the back and planting what appears to be a taser  [hmtad name=”Adsense Unit 1″ align=”floatleft”] on him. We have kids shooting other kids in schools. We have adults that can’t “cope” wipe out entire families and then themselves. Mothers drowning the very babies they gave birth to or starving them to death and then freezing them in deep freezers. We have people in the name of religion cutting non believers heads off and putting it on the web for all to see. We have “religious” people destroying thousands of year old relics in the name of “Idol worshiping”. We have race wars starting back up when we should all be of “one”. Our hands and words should be building up, not tearing down one another. We are over medicating our kids and ourselves. We say our kids are “too hyper” and they need to medicated. Seen and not heard is a popular outdated adage that has come back. I know people that medicate their pets. We have people that have fought for decades for tolerance that can’t accept tolerance when its asked of them. We have allies that we are turning our back on. Nation against Nation. Country against Country. Neighbor against Neighbor. Cyber bulling.

The list goes on and on. It seems times are more scary now than what I have read about during the cold war. Any answers or suggestions? How can we reset all this? Or can we?

My review of Kiss’s new album “MONSTER”

Posted onOctober 5, 2012
google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

So there is a leaked copy of it floating around the net, so I checked it out…

First off. I am a huge KISS fan from way back when they ruled the world. I stuck with them from ALIVE 1and through the disco era “Dynasty” which I thought was a great album by the way. I even forgave them for the “Unmasked” album which did have a couple of good songs on it. One being “A world without Heroes”. I even stuck by them and watched them “unmask” on MTV like millions of other people did. I was in there when Peter quit/got canned and I continued going to see them despite Eric Carr (GOD rest his soul) playing wayyyy to fast on the drums. I was at the show in Evansville Indiana when Vinnie ( plays too fast too) Vincent pushed his amps over and KISS left his ass in parking lot and moved on after the show. I hung in there. I was still there when Grudge took over and songs like “Unholy” was blasting on the radio. Great stuff. Then came the farewell tour. I was still there. I remember Julio Wallace and me driving all night back from a gig in Michigan just to get to Evansville the next day to catch the show.

Then came the extended farewell tour. And another tour. Hell, I even bought the new KISS comics. Then came Psycho Circus”. I even got that. Then Peter and Ace quit/got canned. I get all that. That’s business. I didn’t like it but its not my business.  And then my hope and loyalty started waning…But I still went and saw the show.

Then came KISS “Boom”. more like a fizzle…. Not the band I grew up basically worshiping. More tours, more merchandise, etc. I get it but I no longer subscribe to it. Maybe I am growing up. I wish I wasn’t. I mean this is the band I would have, like most kids my age back in the late 70’s. would have helped KISS invade a small Country if they asked us to.

And now “MONSTER”. The hype machine is in full swing. “It’s a classic KISS album”. “Just four guys writing together”. etc, etc, etc…

So I checked out the leaked copy. You know what? MONSTER should have been called MONSTER LAME”. The song “Hell or Hallelujah”. That’s a great song. Reminds me of the KISS I grew up with. But after that the album just loses steam, tanks and falls over dead. I hear a bunch of fillers and songs they will never play again.

Maybe its time bands just released powerful singles one at time. The old album way of doing things is over. I am sad about it. But the songs just don’t hold up. No hits…

I don’t expect KISS to reinvent the wheel. I know they are no longer starving and it shows. A band that is starving has the “Us against the world attitude”. KISS doesn’t has that. They haven’t had it for a long time. It’s not their fault. They have been mega successful. But I think its time to hand the      baton off to someone else as bad as I hate to say that. I will go ahead and say Motley Crue needs to do the same thing but that’s another story.

So to finish off my review. KISS meant everything music to me. This album doesn’t cut it. Save your money or do something good with it. Maybe send it to “Wounded Warriors” in honor of KISS. KISS Supports that group and I commend them on that.

tears are falling…

I miss my KISS…

sincerely,

chuck

Ugly Kid Joe is seeking your help for a video shoot

Reunited hard rockers UGLY KID JOE have launched a Kickstarter campaign to offer their fans the opportunity to get involved with the production of their music video for the song “I’m Alright” off their latest EP, “Stairway To Hell”.

Commented the band: “It has been a minute since our last music video, and we want to take it to the next level with this one. We’re going the independent route and only with your help and generosity can we make this thing happen.

“We have lots of cool merchandise, some very rare and limited, and even a special experience on the set to offer you.

“Your donations will go directly to the making of this video, from renting the gear to hiring a kick-ass crew and sending it through post-production to be completed.

“We can only do this with your help, so if you like what you see, go ahead and throw down what you can. We’re very excited to make this video… Let’s do this!”

Among the items offered through Kickstarter is to get a chance to meet UGLY KID JOE on tour in October. Other items include an opportunity to attend an UGLY KID JOE rehearsal with a friend in the U.S. and go out for dinner with the band afterwards.

This project will only be funded if at least $12,000 is pledged by Friday, October 12.

Quiet Riot’s bassist Kelli Garni’s new Book “Angels with Dirty Faces” excerpt

For more information, go to this location.

In an interview with UltimateRandyRhoads.com, Garni stated about Rhoads, “It’s too bad that people never really got to know him, because he was a much bigger person than he was a guitar player. His guitar playing, as good as it is, is very hard to overshadow. But what a great person. They always say when people die, ‘He was the world’s nicest guy. What a sweet man…’ even if the guy was a piece of shit. But that was not the case with Randy. He was a very good person. He was a practical joker. He liked to pull pranks on people, and sometimes they were even a little on the mean side. But he would never hurt anybody. He was a very wise guy, as far as helping you out with problems. He was very intuitive, very sensitive. A good heart. Guitar playing was such a big thing — it was all he ever did. You almost had to be around him twenty four hours a day to know him outside of his guitar playing. When he talked on the phone, he was on the guitar. When he was eating his dinner, he had his guitar in his lap and he played between bites. When he was watching TV, he was playing guitar. Always the guitar. You literally had to be in a car with him, with driving, to not have him playing a guitar. So very few people got to know him well. . . It was almost as if there wasn’t even a person outside of that guitar, to most people. And I think that adds to his mystique. He didn’t really get the opportunity to do many interviews. Very, very few. He was somewhat introverted. If we’d do a show, afterwards you’d walk out the door and there would be a line of groupies. He didn’t go for that. He left with his girlfriend. Or maybe he kinda went off away from everybody and he had a drink. He wasn’t really into partying, so to speak, but when he was, that’s when the practical jokes came.”

You know, this is actually not bad, not bad at all. Yea I know its not Ronnie singing it and how many original people are still in the band one? But you can’t beat Rick Medlocke on guitars… This song has got Southern rock written all over it and they tip the hat to Ronnie and few other people.
