This Just In … Aretha Franklin Blows Off Evansville … Cancels Benefit Concert
She canceled due to low ticket sales. The Reitz class of 1975 was promoting the show and it was to benefit the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corp’s PTA clothing bank. So I guess to everyone that would have been benefited from her appearance will instead get no R.E.S.P.E.C.T. from her. She should have stuck to her commitment and did the show anyway even if it was a smaller show. Any amount of money made is better than none. They could have moved the show to the Center and made it a more intimate setting… I just wonder, did she do the Presidential inauguration for free? Anyone know? Was the President more important than homeless people that need clothes?
