It hit the NewsWires this morning that Gordon Lightfoot passed away while on his American tour. The 71 year old Folk singer released a statement saying he is “alive and feels fine”. Isn’t odd how these days some news agencies will put out a story that they haven’t even checked up on?

That’s because news is big business and it’s more important to get the word out as fast as possible and get those precious viewer eyeballs than it is to first verify that a story is credible.
