“Amercian Idol” is boring according to Elton John

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Well, I got to give you props here Elton, you just told it like it is…Most of the performers on “AI” will never be heard from again in a few years except for maybe when they crash and burn….(chuck)

Elton John: ‘American Idol’ Is Boring, Brain Crippling

Elton John’s career has spanned decades, but he insists the longevity is because he played his dues and worked his way to the top — unlike one-hit wonders found on ‘American Idol’ or ‘X-Factor.’ John, 63, believes fame will be fleeting for these reality show winners and contestants.

“I’m not a fan of talent shows. I probably wouldn’t have lasted if I’d gone on one. I was asked to judge ‘American Idol.’ I couldn’t do it because I won’t slag anyone off,” he told UK’s Daily Mail.

“There have been some good acts, but the only way to sustain a career is to pay your dues in small, sh*t clubs.”
“I don’t want to be on television. It’s become boring, paralyzingly brain crippling. I like Simon Cowell, but what he does is TV entertainment,” John added.

John goes on to explain that the industry only has a handful of talented artists, and the reality TV singers don’t really have a chance to come close to their greatness.

“Lily Allen is incredibly talented and can do anything she wants – act, sing, write. I’m also a huge fan of Lady Gaga. And I adore Amy Winehouse” he said.

“It’s important they write their own songs, so they’re not at the mercy of anyone. Songwriters today are pretty awful, which is why everything sounds the same. Contemporary pop isn’t very inspiring.”

1984, Big Brother is here..U.S. tracking private citizens now?

Discovery of GPS tracker becomes privacy issue

By PAUL ELIAS, Associated Press Writer Paul Elias, Associated Press Writer – Sat Oct 16, 10:37 pm ET
SAN FRANCISCO – Yasir Afifi, a 20-year-old computer salesman and community college student, took his car in for an oil change earlier this month and his mechanic spotted an odd wire hanging from the undercarriage.

The wire was attached to a strange magnetic device that puzzled Afifi and the mechanic. They freed it from the car and posted images of it online, asking for help in identifying it.

Two days later, FBI agents arrived at Afifi’s Santa Clara apartment and demanded the return of their property — a global positioning system tracking device now at the center of a raging legal debate over privacy rights.

One federal judge wrote that the widespread use of the device was straight out of George Orwell’s novel, “1984”.

“By holding that this kind of surveillance doesn’t impair an individual’s reasonable expectation of privacy, the panel hands the government the power to track the movements of every one of us, every day of our lives,” wrote Alex Kozinski, the chief judge of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, in a blistering dissent in which a three-judge panel from his court ruled that search warrants weren’t necessary for GPS tracking.

But other federal and state courts have come to the opposite conclusion.

Law enforcement advocates for the devices say GPS can eliminate time-consuming stakeouts and old-fashioned “tails” with unmarked police cars. The technology had a starring role in the HBO cops-and-robbers series “The Wire” and police use it to track every type of suspect — from terrorist to thieves stealing copper from air conditioners.

That investigators don’t need a warrant to use GPS tracking devices in California troubles privacy advocates, technophiles, criminal defense attorneys and others.

The federal appeals court based in Washington D.C. said in August that investigators must obtain a warrant for GPS in tossing out the conviction and life sentence of Antoine Jones, a nightclub owner convicted of operating a cocaine distribution ring. That court concluded that the accumulation of four-weeks worth of data collected from a GPS on Jones’ Jeep amounted to a government “search” that required a search warrant.

Judge Douglas Ginsburg said watching Jones’ Jeep for an entire month rather than trailing him on one trip made all the difference between surveilling a suspect on public property and a search needing court approval.

Goldberg, Behar walk off ‘View’ set during O’Reilly interview

By Michael Calderone michael Calderone Thu Oct 14, 2:45 pm ET

“The View” co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar stormed off the set Thursday during a contentious interview with Fox News host Bill O’Reilly.

As the cast debated whether there should be a community center and mosque built in Lower Manhattan, O’Reilly declared that “Muslims killed us on 9/11” to back up his position that it’s “inappropriate.”

“Oh my God!” Goldberg responded, before uttering a few words bleeped out.

[Rewind: Whoopi’s bizarre behavior draws attention]

“Muslims didn’t kill us on 9/11?” O’Reilly responded. “Is that what you’re saying?”

Goldberg called O’Reilly an “extremist” as several of the co-hosts responded to O’Reilly’s statement that “Muslims” — and not Muslim radicals, extremists or terrorists — killed “us” on 9/11.

[Rewind: Tearful Elisabeth Hasselbeck sorry for Erin Andrews attack]

Behar, who had told O’Reilly that Muslims have a right to build it because “this is America,” said that she no longer “want[ed] to sit here now” after the Fox star’s remarks. Behar and Goldberg then left the studio.

One HIV Positive Porn Star Shuts Down Industry

Published October 13, 2010
| FoxNews

California’s multibillion-dollar adult entertainment industry has been left reeling after another positive HIV test for a porn actor.

The revelation Tuesday led to two of the industry’s biggest companies shutting down production and a scramble to find partners who may have been exposed by the actor, whose identity and gender have not been released.

The actor was a patient of the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation, a San Fernando Valley clinic that caters to pornographic actors.

Clinic spokeswoman Jennifer Miller told the Los Angeles Times that efforts are under way to notify individuals who may have had sexual contact with the actor. Miller did not return calls or e-mail from The Associated Press on Tuesday.

Wicked Pictures and Vivid Entertainment told the Times that they stopped production as a precaution when the positive test was revealed.
