Anyone know Tom Hanks personally? Maybe can get a message to him from the kind folks here in Henderson,KY?
In case you didn’t know. Parts of “A League of Their Own” were filmed in Henderson 25 years ago. Tom Hanks and fellow cast members (including Madonna and Rosie O’Donnell) spent several days here and used one of Henderson’s prominent homes for the boarding house scene in the movie! It was an awesome time and also an honor for Henderson to be a part of such a great movie!
On Saturday Sept. 19th. Henderson Regional Hospital Foundation is hosting a fundraiser called “Movie on Main” featuring the movie “A league of their Own”.
The proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the partnership between Henderson’s own Methodist Hospital and the University of Kentucky’s Markey Cancer Center. The partnership will allow Henderson’s Methodist Hospital to provide state of the art cancer care for the people in our community.
So, if you know Tom Hanks. Could you run this short video clip by him? Henderson would be much obliged to you and if he can attend please ask him (on my be half, this is) to bring Wilson with him too! (It’s a different movie I know, but wasn’t Wilson a cool character?) #MovieOnTheLawn

There will be a live auction that day as well to include items donated from all over. If you are interested in making a donation please go here to get more information and a sponsorship packet. Proceeds will raise money for educational scholarships and to help with social economic situations for Shane’s children and others. The Shane Breedlove Foundation is a non-profit organization.

Q for the Cure of Cancer event please support and repost

Ok here is your chance to do something good for others.
We have a location and an official date set for the Q for the Cure of Cancer event.
It will be September 14th at the Avon Christian Church.
We will be working with the Mighty Mia group and the Maeci Gracie foundation to raise money for Cancer groups.
We plan on having Music, Bands, Games, BBQ Contest Car Show, and lots of fun and food.
What can you do?
We need donations for the auction, Bands, a DJ, and vendors.
Vendor booths are only $25.00
BBQ contest is $25.00
We need booths for awareness programs, Businesses, or just about anything.
We want everyone to spread the word to grow support for those who have been effected by Cancer as we all have.
We are open to suggestions.
Please join Q for the cure group and share your story’s.
We will have daily updates, list auction items, Supporters, and our personal stories of why we do what we do.
