What Is The 5 Fold Ministry

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

I have been asked on numerous occasion what is the “5 Fold Ministry. “  Many have heard of the term but really don’t know what it means and they have never asked within their own church exactly what is the “5 Fold Ministry.”  They state they did not want to embarrass themselves.  I usually have two answers for them.  First, the only dumb question is the one you do not ask.  As with anything else in life, how can one learn if they fail to ask questions.  Secondly, each of us is responsible for our own salvation.  No friend, family member, or a Clergy can get you to heaven.  That is something each of us must do on our own.  When it comes to your salvation, make sure you get answers.  Not just answers but biblical answers.  Find out where it is in the bible and then prove to yourself that you have received a biblical answer.

Ephesians 4:11-12. These verses say, “And He gave some as Apostles, and some as Prophets, and some as Evangelists, and some as Pastors and Teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.”

The purpose of the five-fold ministry is, “to prepare God’s people for works of service. Therefore, that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” So, since the body of Christ definitely is not built up to unity in the faith and has not attained to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ, the thinking goes, the offices must stay in effect.

Understanding that an apostle is a “sent one” immediately raises the question, “Sent for what purpose?” To clearly see the purpose of an apostle, we must look at it in its relation to the other four equipping ministries. The evangelist plays the primary role of the herald, who broadcasts the good news of salvation to the unsaved. The pastor and the teacher next best serve a person once having been “saved” and thus becoming a member of the Body of Christ. The pastor concentrates on shepherding him and caring for him by tending to his mental, physical, and spiritual needs. The teacher’s objective is to set forth sound, healthy doctrine to keep the believer firmly established and grounded in the integrity and accuracy of God’s Word so he can stand for a lifetime. The prophet serves as the “eyes and ears” of the Church, identifying the ministries in others, acting as a watchman, giving us spiritual direction, and alerting us to danger in the spiritual battle.

Apostle: So how does the apostle fit into this mix of ministries? The apostle’s central purpose is to be a spiritual builder. His charge is to build community, which he does by bringing unity and balance to the mix. Paul says  “My purpose is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love…” (Col. 2:2). This is a community agenda. With all of the ministries demonstrating specialized aspects of Christ’s own character, the apostle represents the Lord’s heart to keep them balanced, working together to build spiritual communities.

The record of Acts indicates that evangelists, prophets, and apostles are the most effective ministries in church planting, but all three achieve dramatic results through different means. The evangelist goes to the new area, drawing in the crowd and winning people to Christ. The prophet is capable of producing results with his ability to clearly hear from God, speaking specific prophetic words necessary for advancing the spiritual war against the Enemy. The apostle is also effective at planting a new church primarily because of his ability to network. As time goes on, these three ministries need to hand off much responsibility to the pastor and teacher. Any person with desire and a plan can plant a church, but that does not mean he or she is adept at building it. The heart of an apostle beats with the desire to build by developing a community of believers and in order to do this he must work closely with the other ministries. “Apostles think architecturally as builders, supernaturally gifted at putting people’s lives together so that they form a cohesive, vibrant, balanced community.”  They also think governmentally, guiding each person into his proper place for the purpose of unity and growth. When things are out of order, they’ll know it. Apostles are concerned with the design, form, and function of spiritual communities.

Apostles are not supermen. They are human like everyone else, and they must work to develop spiritual fruit like any other believer. We must be suspicious of anyone who claims to be an apostle but turns out to be interested in promoting himself and his ministry more than the things of God. Every apostle can clearly relate to Paul’s words when he said that he did not “deserve to be called an apostle” (1 Cor. 15:9). They understand that apostle-ship is not based on works or talents. The ministry of an apostle cannot be earned; it is purely a gift of God’s grace. [34] “Each one of us should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms” (1 Pet. 4:10). No matter how we are called, no matter what gift of grace we have received, we must all serve faithfully.  In discharging the duties of our ministries, for I am convinced that everyone who serves and loves others deeply “will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Pet. 1:11).

Prophets: A prophet is a person who speaks or acts on behalf of God by divine inspiration. He is considered as an interpreter, proclaimer or spokesman of God who has the ability to reveal or interpret God’s will and the future. Thus he can be called as someone who is the mouthpiece of God and stands between God and man to communicate to man the word of God.

Several religions like Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, Judaism, etc speaks of prophets and their works. He is the formal representative of god. He has the powers of divination or channeling. In the previous times or the ancient ages a prophet was always a male. A prophet is also a religious reformer who has the will of god to make the essential changes in religion as per the time. Translate literally the word prophet means “the servant of god”. The revelations made by prophets are known as prophecies.

The authentic function of a prophet is to accurately predict or diviniate on future events and also to accurately recall ancient events. The other essential function would be the consistent demonstration of an exemplary and righteous lifestyle. All authentic prophets would consistently demonstrate compassion, equity, contentment and self-sacrifice in every moment of their lives.

Evangelists: Often the first representative a person may meet from a church is the evangelist. A person who serves as evangelists plays a vital role in teaching the gospel. However, the words “evangelist”, “preacher”, and “minister” have been used differently by so many denominations, it has become necessary that we turn to the pages of the Bible to discover God’s original purpose and design for this great work and service.

The Evangelist goes to the highway and the byways, to the street corners, and down the ally’s.  He goes to where the lost and down trodden are at.  He reaches people on their own grounds.  He preaches the Holy Word to the lost without becoming a part of the World.  The Evangelist must be in the world to spread the good news but not become involved of the world.

Being an Evangelist means preaching in public places such as parks or sidewalks, it means delivering messages to different churches besides your home church, and to kow and believe in the Bible, and do whatever God tells you.

I am more of an Evangelist then a Pastor.

Pastors: The most important duty of a pastor is to work hard at preaching and teaching. By his sermons and his teaching, he shows his love to God and to the congregation. It will be obvious in the messages a pastor preaches when he is not growing in his walk with God and is not spending many hours in scripture. The apostles did not have time for administration and neither do pastors today. In fact, some of the centralization of power with pastors would disappear if administrative duties were turned over to other elders and deacons. The priority of the apostles was the teaching of the scriptures – the Bible. When the Bible is seriously taught book-by-book and verse-by-verse, Christians will be warned about sin, be encouraged in the faith, learn how to live the Christian life, and best of all discover the character of God.

The Pastor’s duties include Oversight of the Church, Share authority with others, Shepherd the Church, Teach the Word of God and Pray, Resolve Doctrinal Issues,  Godly example to the Church, Pray for the Sick, and Church Discipline

Teachers:  To prayerfully help students learn subject matter, skills, and develop attitudes and knowledge that will contribute to their developmental as mature, able, and responsible Christian man and women to the praise and glory of God.

The teacher shall be one who has received Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The teacher shall be a member in good standing of an evangelical church and shall lead a separated life. He/she shall be a person of spiritual maturity with academic and leadership abilities. The teacher shall reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ in every class, and in every activity.  The teacher shall be one who feels called of God to the teaching position being sought. Other responsibilities as deemed by The Board as deemed appropriate.

Interview with Eddie Crunk From Double Dukes/Bullies and Fancy Free/Legacee bands

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

1. Hello Eddie, and welcome to Kickacts. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I’m a 53 yr old entrepreneur. Born & still live in White Plains Ky.
I started The Fancy Free Band in Jan 1975 performed regionally until 1989 then
started a national tour until 1999. Then I played locally until 2003 when we disbanded.
I then  started a DJ company doing weddings & clubs. I do alot of shows  in the Henderson
and Evansville area too. Then Danny Darnell,  my old band mate and I bought Bullys Bar & Bulls-eye Steakhouse in Madisonville Ky in 2006. We leased the Double Dukes at the Ramada Henderson in March 2009

2.You recently took over the Double Dukes bar and Lounge here in Henderson and have dropped a ton of money into the place updating the sound and lights and more. Tell us about it and your goals for the place.

Its is from a musicans point of view, the perfect showroom for a club band or entertainer. Over the next few months expect to see new paint & decor. We have already added in house sound & lighting and we expect to double that soon as this resession eases up! I won’t stop improving as long as I’m there. I hope to have something going on with music everyday at the club including New Bands,Karaoke, videos Dj ,solo,  and acoustic acts. I love all kinds of music so I plan on lots of variety with my bands

 3. You have something going on just about every night at Double Dukes  from  karaoke to acoustic acts and bands. You have something for everyone and great drink prices too. Who do you have coming in this month and what  are your drink specials?

I told my bartenders to pick 1 or 2 different  drinks each day for a special. Then we’ll have some advertised specials each week repeating the ones that goes well! As for future entertainment it will always vary on the weekends. right now I have a Open Mic jam night Tues, Singles dance on Wed. Acoustic Duo Thurs evenings and later on that night Karaoke, Fri will be DJ, Videos with some new bands trying out, and then our featured artist on Sat

Eddie back in the day!

4. Do you offer reduced prices on hotel rooms for those that might want to stay after partying at Double Dukes?

I do have a special weekend rate for our customers  with a room. theres no cover charge to get in to Double Dukes. A couple could come out, get a room deal, eat a meal, have several drinks, then not have to worry about driving , sort of a weekend get-a-way…

5. Double Dukes is a great bar and as a fellow musician too, it’s a great place to play. It has a large band stage area, dance floor and a killer house sound system that most clubs in this area lack. A band can basically hook right up into your sound system without having to bring in their own P.A. For bands or acts wanting to play there, do you have an email address or phone number where they can get in touch with you?

my email is crunky@bellsouth.net .And your right all our sound gear is top notch and plus we’ll mix the sound & run the lights for the bands.

6. There were some negative comments recently made on Bandnut.com concerning Double Dukes and the old management. You have tried to turn that around. Would you like to address any of those comments?

We are not the old management. Making money there is not top concern but having the best nightclub in area is.We need all the support we can get from everyone. If something at the club is not right I will do my best to correct it for my customer. It seems most of the negativity on Bandnut was personal. If all the entertainers who have already worked for us where to write something about us I think it would be 100% positive.

John – Chapter 15

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

John – Chapter 15

The grapevine is prolific plant; a single vine that bears many grapes. In the Old Testament grapes symbolized Israel’s fruitfulness in doing God’s work on the earth (Psalm 80:8, Isaiah 5:1-5, Ezekiel 19:10-14). In the Passover Meal the fruit of the vine symbolized God’s goodness to his people.

Christ is the vine, and God is the gardener who cares for the branches to make them fruitful. The branches are the true believers of Jesus Christ and they are fruitful. But, those that come unproductive, those who turn back from following Christ after making a superficial commitment will be separated from God. Unproductive followers, good as dead, will be cut off and tossed to the side.

Jesus makes a distinction between two types of pruning: (1) separating and (2) cutting back the branches. Fruitful branches are cut back to allow growth. In other words, sometimes God must discipline us to strengthen our character and our faith. Branches that don’t bear fruit are cut off at the trunk because not only are they worthless, but they often infect the rest of the tree. People who no not bear fruit for God or try to block the efforts of God will be cut off from His life-giving power.

The only way to God the Father is to Repent and accept Jesus Christ wholeheartedly as your Lord and Savior. To accept and ask Jesus into your heart simply because of the moment mean an individual is not truly saved. Becoming a Christian and asking Jesus into your heart is so easy to do. But, it is a life changing experience. All old things are passed away such as: drugs, alcohol, profanity, hatred, adultery, disobedience to the Ten Commandments, and etc. The love of God and the peace, joy, comfort, and love of Jesus will fill you. Fruit is not limited to soul winning. Answered prayer, joy, and love are mentioned also (Galatians 5:22-24, 2 Peter 1:5-8).

Remaining in Christ means (1) believing that he the Son of God (1 John 4:15), (2) receiving him as your personal Savior and Lord (John 1:12), doing what God says (1 John 3:24), (4) continuing to believe the Gospel (1 John 2:24), and (5) relating in love to the community of believers, Christ’s body (John 15:12).

Many people try to do well and follow their conscious. However, you could be one of the best people anyone could meet. You can show everyone respect, not talk about anyone, donate to charities, and even go to church. But, if you have not sincerely asked Jesus to become your Lord and Savior, YOU WILL NOT GO TO HEAVEN.

When a branch (Christian) bear much fruit, God is glorified, for daily He sends rain and sunshine to make the crops grow (Holy Spirit). He constantly nurtures each tiny plant and prepared it to blossom. What a moment of glory for the Lord of the harvest when the harvest is brought into the barns, mature and ready for use (individuals becoming Christians)!

When things are going well, we feel elated. When hardships come, we sink into depression. But true joy transcends the rolling waves of circumstance. Joy comes from having a true, consistent, personal, and loving relationship with the Lord. When our lives are intertwined with his, he will help us through adversity without sinking into debilitating lows and manage prosperity without moving into deceptive highs. The joy of living with Christ daily will keep us levelheaded, no matter how high or how low our circumstances.

We need to love each other as Jesus loved us. He gave his life for each of us. He already paid the price. All we have to do is accept. Because Jesus is Lord and Master, he has every right to call us his servants. Yet, he calls us his children, sons and daughters, and friends. Christians will receive plenty of hatred from the world.

Jesus uses two names for the Holy Spirit – Counselor and Spirit of Truth. The Counselor helps, encourages, and strengthens the work of the Spirit. The Spirit of Truth points to the teaching, illuminating, and reminding work of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit ministers to both the head and the heart. Both which are extremely important.

God Bless you. If you are not a Christian, I can show you the way.

Springsteen wants name off royalty lawsuit against NYC bar

AP

NEW YORK – Bruce Springsteen wants his name off a lawsuit demanding licensing fees from a Manhattan bar where a band played his songs.

A statement on Springsteen’s Web site Thursday said he didn’t know about the lawsuit that was filed Wednesday in federal court and wouldn’t have agreed to be a plaintiff if he had been asked.

It says Springsteen’s representatives demanded the immediate removal of his name Thursday morning after learning about the lawsuit filed by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. ASCAP didn’t immediately return a telephone call seeking comment Thursday night.

The Truth Is Out There…ce: Jon Tucker (Kickacts over Tampa, Fla)

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

As I continue my investigation into the female world, I stumbled upon some really strange things. In one of my previous articles, Relax its just food, I tackled the question on why women like chocolate. In this article, I’m going to tackle a new wonder. I went through the proper channels, gave myself plenty of “kootie” shots, and equipped myself with a slingshot and Midol. Why a slingshot you ask? Well it’s elementary my dear Watson, Midol is a wonderful little pill, but when you are running away or in long distances, you cant just put one in a girls mouth, oh no no my friend you have to shoot it in there. You wouldn’t put your hand in a lions mouth to feed it would you? No I didn’t think so.

So there I was, sitting at work, and I hear, what sounds like clucking, coming from the set of cubicles next to me. I got excited, finally human resources read and allowed my email about bringing in farm animals for show and tell. Hooray!! I ran to see these chickens and to my shock there were no chickens. Damnit not only did human resources not allow farm animals in the building but I was tricked. With my head down I walk back to my seat. Shortly after I hear the clucking again. I was damned if I was going to get fooled again so I snuck around the corners and saw, or should I say heard women talking.

I couldn’t believe it, I refused to believe it, but there it was, right in front of me, women talking, but sounding like chickens clucking. So I went to the only person I knew that could help me, some scientist I never met. So after I looked one up, and went to his “lab” as they call it, I introduced myself and we went straight to the brass tax. I told him about my findings, and he pulled me to the side and with a whisper told me I had stumbled upon something that only a few have figured out.

He took me into a room and played a tape. It sounded just like chickens clucking. I told the scientist that it was just chickens, and he said I was correct. Then he played another audio bit that, again, sounded like clucking. I looked at him and said “Dude if I wanted to hear audio of chickens clucking then I would have used youtube.” He protested and told me to listen very carefully. So I did and to my amazement I could pick out some words in English. After I showed my expression of amazement, he looked at me and said, “Me and some fellow scientists ran some tests and found that chickens clucking and women talking hit the same pitch and frequency. When they “gab” to each other they automatically go into what we call “Clucking tone”. We found it on accident really. We’ve even done some tests were we took audio of women gabbing, and played it for a small group of chickens, and visa versa. It was a startling discovery, they understood each other, and on top of that one woman even laid an egg!”

This was to much to take in for me. I didn’t know what to say or how to react. Just as I was picking up the phone to call a few friends of mine to explain what I learned, the scientist grabbed the phone away from me and told me, “You don’t want to do that. The other scientists I worked with tried doing that and they all lost their lives. You think the feminist group was created so women can bitch, oh no my friend they really are a secret society that slaves to keep women’s secrets…well secret. If you try and talk about this they will kill you.”

I started to feel sick. On one hand I had to tell someone, anyone that would listen, but on the other hand I don’t feel like being attacked by a hairy arm-pitted bra-less woman. I promised the scientist I wouldn’t let the secret out. As I was leaving the scientist gave me one last glance, and walked away. I don’t know if his life will be in danger since he told me, and I didn’t want to know. The thought of being killed by a feminist was to much for me to think about. What an awful world we live in when we get killed for spreading the truth.

**GUITAR WARS**. Les Paul’s Verses Strats

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

OK my fellow guitar heroes’ listen up. Down through the ROCK AGES there has been a distinct tonal difference between Gibson Les Paul guitars and Fender Strats. For the sake of competition from our axe slingers out there, I prefer the Les Paul, so I am biased. But for our audience that is unfamiliar with them, Slash plays a Les Paul on “Sweet Child o’ Mine”. He rocks back on the neck pick up and pours his heart and soul into that solo everyone air guitars to. Need another example? Zakk Wlyde also uses Les Paul’s. His awesome sound can be heard on “Ozzy Osbourne’s” No More Tears”. That opening guitar lick sets the tone. Thick and heavy and Zakk delivers it like Thor’s hammer to a nail. The Gibson Les Paul is a solid body guitar that was handed down by the rock gods to Mr. Les Paul to inspire countless kids to become rock gods themselves. In the other corner we have Leo Fender’s Stratocaster. Also handed down by the rock gods. The Strat is a thin body guitar that the likes of Stevie Ray Vaughn used along with Jeff Beck. It also has a distinct tone to it. Not as warm as a Les Paul but still a great sound. Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton prefer the sweet sounds that pour out of a Strat too. David Gilmour uses a Strat in Pink Floyd and no doubt about it, that guitar tone along with his playing helped set the mood for that “PINK FLOYD” sound. Check out “Comfortable Numb” for just one example. It wouldn’t be the same without it. So head to the comment section and VOTE!!I’ll post the winner next time around!!
