I sometimes simply amaze myself. One minute I am listening to Tex Ritter’s “Hillbilly Heaven” and the next I am listening to SLAYER! lol! For guys in the mid 50’s SLAYER is still kicking ass and taking names. Album, tour and repeat!

Prison riot breaks out during Slayer’s performance LEFT TO RIGHT/Band: Tom Araya, Kerry King

From Blabbermouth:

SLAYER‘s video for “Repentless” — the title track of the band’s new album — can be seen below. The clip was filmed on August 26 at the Sybil Brand Institute, the women’s prison in East Los Angeles. While SLAYER performed the track under that punishing sun over an eight-hour period, the “prisoners” had to stage a riot for somewhere north of twelve takes before director BJ McDonnell finally called it a wrap. But that was all pretty much in keeping with McDonnell‘s brutal vision for the clip, a vision that many in the veteran cast and crew referred to as “more like something for a feature film than a rock band’s music video.”

512At 54, he is tired. Misses his family and more. For an inside look at one of Metal’s God father’s of Metal. One of the original “Big Four!”. You can safely bet that hotels and airports are not on his list of things to do anymore…

from VICETom Araya Sold His Soul to Slayer, But Was It Worth It? | NOISEY

“You’re in a bus all day, you stop at a rest stop, you go to work, you get back on the bus.
That’s it. It’s funny, recently we went to Europe to do press for the new album. We did three days in London, a day in Paris, a day in Norway, two days or three days in Germany. And people are like “Oh, that must be nice. Did you get to see much of Paris?” And I look at them, and say “See this room? Look around you.” And they’re looking around. “This is my Paris. It’s beautiful isn’t it?” [Laughs] That’s what I say whenever anybody asks me that, because we’re always in the hotels doing interviews and everybody asks me that. “Did you get to see much of Stockholm?” I’ll look around and I’ll show them the room. “How do you like it? This is my Stockholm. It’s beautiful, isn’t it? I like the drapes. Look at the couch. Wonderful.” And then you open the window and go “This is my painting, my picture. This is what I see.”

I could tell you what every airport in the fucking world looks like. It’s a sad day when you can do that, let me tell you that.”

Anyone that reads Yahoo knows who Slayer is…

That’s a not a dig at Slayer. Anyone that listens to good music should know and “fear’ Slayer (joking). If you don’t have Slayer’s “South of Heaven” in your MP3 collection, well, you need to. Or I guess you may be swinging from Justin Bieber’s ball sac if you don’t…I mean didn’t you ever win a Slayer mirror at the Fair???

Anyway, not where I am headed.

Seems there is a money issue in Slayer’s camp and when Drummer Dave Lombardo brought it up  he was replaced.

Dave Said…

“Last year, I discovered 90% of Slayer’s tour income was being deducted as expenses, including the professional fees paid to management, costing the band millions of dollars and leaving 10% or less to split amongst the four of us,”
