George Michael sentenced to 8 weeks of “buffet”…lol

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

that is if he is put in the “general population it’s all he can eat……j/k for all the pc people…

LONDON – A British judge has sentenced George Michael to eight weeks in jail for driving while under the influence of drugs after the singer crashed his car into a London photo shop.

The singer pleaded guilty last month to driving under the influence and possession of cannabis following a July 4 collision between his Range Rover and a Snappy Snaps store.

Michael was sentenced Tuesday at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court, which also fined him 1,250 pounds ($1,930). He is likely to serve half the time before being considered for parole.

Police said Michael appeared “spaced out” when they found him sitting in the car, whose engine was still running. He acknowledged smoking marijuana and taking a prescription sedative, prosecutors said.

It was the latest in a string of automotive and drug-related mishaps for the 47-year-old star, who has often spoken of his fondness for marijuana.

In February 2006, he was found slumped at the wheel of his car at London’s busy Hyde Park Corner. That April, he hit three parked cars while trying to maneuver out of a parking space, and admitted being “a terrible driver.”

In October 2006, he was found slumped over the wheel of his car as it blocked an intersection. He pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drugs and was sentenced to community service.

Last year, he was involved in a late-night crash with a truck outside London. Michael released a statement stressing he was “stone cold sober” at the time.

Michael gained mega-stardom in his early 20s as half of Wham! and went on to have a successful solo career. His first solo album, 1987’s “Faith,” sold 20 million copies.

Quiet Riot rides again. The MASK is Back!..(I never saw this coming…)

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Frankie was adament about shutting down QR when Kevin Dubrow passed away but the band has got to move on and of course make tons of money… 🙂 I listened to the new recorded tracks with the new guy (see bleow) and I think I hear Kevin Dubrow in the back up vocals, sounds like instead of re-recording the songs they just lifted Kevin’s vocals and replaced it with the new guy..check it out and let us know what you think. (chuck)

After the tragic passing of co-founding QUIET RIOT singer Kevin DuBrow in 2007, many figured that the band was over. But while going through the vaults of vintage video material for an upcoming documentary of the band’s history, the spark was reignited once more for drummer Frankie Banali to kick QUIET RIOT back in gear. The easy part was filling the guitar and bass slots — as former members Chuck Wright (bass) and Alex Grossi (guitar) promptly signed on. However, having to fill DuBrow‘s large shoes was no small task.

A longtime fan of heavy metal, singer Mark Huff came to Banali‘s attention while fronting a California-based VAN HALEN tribute band (that focused on the “Sammy Hagar era”). A true Cinderella story, Huff auditioned via a cattle call audition, promptly blew Banali away, and got the gig. After getting the blessing from DuBrow‘s mother to carry on with QUIET RIOT (and to celebrate her son’s music), the group was ready to rock once more.

QUIET RIOT hit mega-success with their first-ever U.S. release in 1983, the classic “Metal Health”. Spawning two hit singles that have gone on to become synonymous with heavy metal — “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Metal Health” — the “Metal Health” album went on to become the first-ever metal U.S. debut to hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard album chart, and resulted in a solid year of sold-out arena shows and non-stop MTV video airplay. However, it was the DuBrowBanaliWrightGrossi lineup that proved to be DuBrow‘s favorite touring line-up (and also, most stable).

QUIET RIOT is currently firming up plans for a full U.S. tour — their first in three years. And with the aforementioned documentary on the horizon, and the band’s music being used in hit films (“The Wrestler”, “Tropic Thunder”), video games (“Guitar Hero Encore: Rocks The ’80s”), and even musicals (“Rock of Ages”) — as well as QUIET RIOT being name-checked in songs by WEEZER and BEN FOLDSQUIET RIOT remains a major force in heavy metal. And soon, you will get a chance to bang your head once more to QUIET RIOT, at a concert venue near you!

Check out a sample track featuring recorded versions of “Cum On Feel The Noize”, “Metal Health” and “Slick Black Cadillac” with Mark Huff on vocals.

Revenue generator or not?

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

This past weekend I got pulled over by one of our city’s Finest for not wearing my seatbelt. I know it’s the law right up front…The Officer was polite and for once I was also polite. Heck I thought he had pulled me over for speeding since I was coming over the Second Street over pass and well, vehicles tend to pick up speed on the down slope… So anyway down by Holy Name Church is where I was stopped…. He said he observed me without the seat belt and of course I agreed since I wasn’t wearing it… While he was handing me my $25.00 ticket I asked him if I could ask him some questions and he agreed. So I politely asked him that as a Police Officer shouldn’t he be out “crime fighting” instead of generating funds for the local police department and our Government. I asked him if that offended him and of course he gave the pat answers. “No it’s the law’ he said. But I politely asked him again simply because I am curious and not trying to be a smartass.. He said no, he said he knows a kid here in town and he knows what vehicle he drives and the kid refuses to wear a seat belt also so he said every time he sees him it’s a guaranteed $25.00 ticket. It’s just the way it is… according to him. I told him that I believe helmet laws would be more practical on motor cycles but they are allowed to not have to wear one and clearly to me that is more dangerous than not wearing a seatbelt and he also said that he would write tickets all day for helmets if he could but he can’t. So I pried on. I asked him that I have noticed that in times past our city police Officers cruised within the City limits and the State Police and Sheriffs stayed out in the County and State roads but now that has changed. I told him I have seen State Police cars on McKinley clocking traffic and the Sheriff and Deputies pulling over people within the City limits as well as the State Police doing the same. I said aren’t you guys all three of you competing for the same ticket then if that’s allowed? He said no, he didn’t feel like its competition but I said but it is…you have to generate revenue too and now you are competing with the others for my ticket, not crime fighting but competing for my seatbelt ticket.. Once again he said no he wasn’t and I told him thanks and have a good day and of we both went our seperate ways and of course I will pay the fine to help generate revenue for the Police department and out State Government knowing that I will never be convinced any differently of it…The seat beat I know saves lives, no doubt but it’s my truck, I paid for it, I get no breaks for wearing it but I get punished if I don’t..It’s a little law that a long with a bunch of other little laws have slowly taken our freedom away and the masses will slowly give all of our freedoms away if we don’t stop it..

So enclosing, what do you think. Is the seat belt law and other pettily tickets like that just revenue generators or are they legitimate excuses for tickets?

Def Leppard Singer Joe Elliott Ready To Officially Launch His Own Beer

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Editor’s comment: Joe Elliott is funny. Wine is not rock & roll. Wonder if he forgot he sang lead vocals on a song called “Me & My Wine” in the early 80s. Guess not. Tool.

Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott will officially launch his own beer in Dublin next week.

Down ‘n’ Outz takes its name from Elliott’s musical side project and is described as “a pilsner style” that has “a deep, rich malt character, with generous hop bitterness”.

The launch takes place on Wednesday, 15 September at The Porterhouse North Rock Garden in Glasnevin.

Brewed and bottled by The Porterhouse, the beer will be available in all Porterhouse bars.

Commenting, Elliott said: “Over the years I’ve noticed a lot of musicians putting their names to a variety of wines etc which, as nice as a glass of red or white is, well, it’s not very rock and roll is it?!

“Beer or lager seem to be the drink of choice at nearly every gig I’ve ever played or attended so for me it’s a much cooler thing to do and having seen how The Porterhouse put quality over quantity, I’m extremely happy to get involved with Oliver [Hughes, Porterhouse MD] and his gang.”

Vince Neil slams Nikki Sixx, calls him a “f**king Idiot”..

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

sounds like Motley Crue will be looking for a new singer before long too….Just like Aerosmith….

Neil writes, “I don’t think Nikki has changed much over the years. He still likes to portray himself as the Messiah. Everything is his. Everything is his idea. I’ll look at him and think, ‘Fuck! He just loves playing that persona.’ And my sentiment is: ‘I don’t really care one way or the other. If he wants to be that, fine.’ I do my job, and I fucking have fun. But in Nikki‘s world, he has to be known as the ‘thinker,’ or the ‘creator;’ He needs to be seen as Mr. All-Important. Nikki Sixx, tortured soul. Just like Tommy [Lee, MÖTLEY CRÜE drummer], he’s another one of those guys who just love the whole fame thing. He wouldn’t have been with the tattoo artist Kat Von D if she wasn’t famous. And [former ‘Baywatch’ actress] Donna D’Errico before her; she was a huge star at the time he married her. He just really likes to see his face in the paper. He likes the press buzz. He likes being that guy from the band with famous girlfriends.”

Neil doesn’t stop there.

“I mean, you should read the e-mails [Nikki] sends about MÖTLEY,” Vince continues. “He goes, ‘I’ve crunched the numbers, and we should do this…’ And I’m like, ‘What? Is he my fucking accountant now? I mean, what the fuck?’ He makes these decisions for MÖTLEY CRÜE that I think are just stupid. I call him up and I’ll be like, ‘You’re the worst businessman in the fucking world. You’re a fucking idiot!’ And he’ll be like, ‘How can you say that?’ And I’ll be like, ‘Because you are a fucking idiot.’ Just because something looks good on paper with your name on it doesn’t mean it’s going to work.”
