Ten Questions with Eric Schackne!
- Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and your band and were you can be found at on the web.
Hi my name is Eric and I’m an alcoh- oops, wrong interview…I’m Eric Schackne and I’m pretty sure I’m the only struggling musician in the world.
I’m a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from South Florida (if you know where that is, then I’m from Ft. Lauderdale, and if you know where that is, then I’m from Davie). Introducing my band sort of means just introducing myself because everything you hear in my music was written, played and produced by yours truly. My Dad, being from the musician branch of the family, not-so-forcibly had me taking piano lessons since I was five. I picked up a guitar just before high school, drums in college, and despite no real vocal training, had always loved singing. Despite my one-man-band-ness, I do have some amazing musicians to help me play my tunes live.
I’m all over the interwebs though, and you can currently find all the info on me and my latest Hammers & Strings EP on the Facebooks and the YouTubes and the Twitters (http://EricRockMusic.com).
Who are your musical heroes, influences & why?
I’ve always had a pretty humble admiration toward Read more…

Straight from Billy Bob Thornton’s website! Bad Santa 2!!
I can’t wait!!! The first one was funny as H. E. double tooth picks!!
http://www.billybobthornton.net/
From The “Yes, Virginia (and No, We Don’t Mean Billy Bob’s Mama)” Department
There is a BAD SANTA 2
At least it’s in negotiations, and we hear that not one, but two scripts are in development. As Hisfineself said to the Belfast Telegram, “Hopefully we can get close to the first one. But hopefully the fans will at least get a kick out of seeing the character again, and that’s my hope for it – that people will get a charge out of seeing that character doing his thing again.”
Currently, we’re looking at a fall 2012 shoot and a Christmas 2013 release. Only 577 more shopping days!
Here is a scene from the first one!! If you have tender ears don’t hit play…

Good bye Donna the Hippo…:(
I remember seeing her many times as a kid…I kinda hated that she stayed locked up all her life but i know she was taken well care of.
chuck
EVANSVILLE — After more than 50 years at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden, Donna the hippopotamus, believed to be the oldest such creature in captivity, will be euthanized Wednesday because of her failing health.
Zoo director Amos Morris confirmed the news Tuesday afternoon about the 60-year-old hippo, a fixture at the Evansville facility. Most hippos live to their 40s.
“The one thing I can offer Donna is a humane passing. And handling her with dignity and care. And have as painless a passing as possible,” Morris said. “I’m honored to do that for an animal that has been with the zoo for such a long time.”
