“Star Ship Troopers 3” Movie Review

“Star ship Troopers”. The first movie in this series released back in 1997 freaking rocked and you even got to see Denise Richard’s boobs before she turned in a reality show nightmare and a spoiled little skinny bitch. I mean so what if Charlie asked you to “dress up” for him in the bedroom and be naughty for him. Come on, you’re an actress, play the part. Charlie has enough money that I would dress up for him and I don’t have a gay bone in my body.

Anyway back to the series. The first movie rocked. The bugs were cool and the CGI effects were great. The whole idea of intelligent bugs fighting back is clever. If you haven’t seen it, it’s a must see. The propaganda commercials during the movie are so real and over the top. “Join the Federation, become a Citizen”. I think it’s a sign of how things will be in the not too distant future. (Not the bug fights but the Government Propaganda. Hey wait, we may already be there!) Fast forward to the second movie in the set “Heroes of the Federation” was also well done. The set up was a little different but still a good movie to watch. The bugs kicked major ass.

So on to the third installment “Star Ship Troopers Marauder” it should at least be in the same ball park as the other two, right? Wrong answer, it sucked out loud. In fact it sucked harder than the band Coheed and Cambria that was with Slipknot the other night, but that’s a different review. I mean what a waste of tape and even though they brought back Johnny Rico, He couldn’t save it either. They over used a line made famous by Lt. Commander Worf from Star Trek. “Today is a good day to die”. Not to mention they sort of poked fun at God throughout the movie. Once again, our future is hinted in the movie and I will give it props for that. By this time all religions are banned and the Government will hang anyone that is anti-Government. That part was good but the jist of the movie was about a guy trying to find “God” and during the movie he keeps quoting scripture and saying “God” talks with me everyday. But not to give the secret away but it’s not God he was talking to. (SPOILER ALERT) He was talking to the “Brain of all Brain” bugs. The story line of the movie was extremely weak and the CGI was awful. It was definitely and awful low budget movie shot straight to DVD. My wife and I watched it and we both agreed it was a waste of 105 minutes of our time. I give it one brain bug out of five.

Dog The Bounty Hunter “You’re A Freakin’ Douche”

“I already hate that son of a bitch” is what Duane “The Dog” Chapman recently said on one of his episodes of the reality show “Dog, The Bounty Hunter”. He was refering to an “Ice” dealer named Pana that he was revoking bail on. First, I want to applaud Dog and his team for taking bail jumpers off of the streets of Hawaii.  After Jack Lord died Hollywood could no longer call on Steve McGarrett and “book ’em Danno” to keep them clean so up pops “The Dog”. Have you ever watched it? His team runs around with paintball guns and pepper spray to subdue anyone that attempts to run away. I guess he is not allowed to carry weapons since he himself is a former felon and served time for a murder for which he proclaims his innocence. I can’t blame the guy there, only he and God knows the truth. So back to why I feel like he is “The Douche Bag of the week”. Ever watch the show? Well, there is a repeating pattern for every case and its almost always the same. They huddle in the office of the Da Kine Bail Bonds business and discuss who they are attempting to capture. That’s not where the problem is. What happens next is. It is so scripted. First off, he’ll chase whomever it is he is chasing. Most of the time it’s his younger sons’ that catch the “bad guy” and then Dog will come into the scene and start cussing and name calling the perpretrator like he did Pana on last night’s episode. Dog called him a mother fucking piece of scum among other things and held him by the back of his hair. The guy was already handcuffed and definitely not going anywhere. He never even put up a fight. So there was Dog, doing what he always does after the guy is safely restrained, talking smack about him. Then Dog asked Leland to put him in the truck. Dog’s wife Beth, will next talk to any wives or girlfriends of the before mentioned capturee. After that, Dog will offer the captured soul a cigarette and most times a sandwich. Then, he’ll have the  captured guy call his mother and tell her he loves her. Then after all of that, Dog will get in the truck with him to give him the same speech he gives to just about everyone he arrests. I’ve been where you been bro” … and then before he is taken into the jail they pray with the guy they just ran down and captured. He does this week after week. Once again, so scripted … It’s almost like there is a Hollywood script reader there with a clip board an a ink pen saying ” Capture bad guy” check. Talk smack to him “check”. Have Leland put him/her into the truck “Check”. Beth talk with female “Check”. And every once in awhile hollering “Dog, we need a reshoot, you forgot to offer them  a smoke”. So that’s why Dog is the Douche Bag of the week, not for what he does in keeping the streets clean but for sacrificing his integrity for Hollywood and money and following the same old template each week … I just wonder if the paintball guns and pepper spray would work in “Watts”?

Ok, Here’s my Two cents for Yngwie Malmsteem

I just saw photos of you taken at the recent NAMM show in California. Ok, big deal, you can play effortlessly and with out any feelings at a  million miles an hour. In fact, you have gotten alot of mileage out of that one scale run you play over and over. I will add here in case Keith Alvey wants to try and ring my bell about this guitar player and go ahead and go on record and say it. “I, Chuck Gee, will never be able to play that fast or aticulate as well as Yngwie”. But here is my rant. For God’s sake Yngwie, button the damn shirt up already. None of us are in our twenties anymore and yes we all have put on some weight. But you are starting to look like Elvis Presley right before he died. You have the lamb chop sideburns and a large gut jutting out of your unbuttoned shirt. Keep playing for your fans at a million miles an hour and just button the shirt up. You won’t look like a parody of yourself anymore …

Do you Call this Entrapment? I Do…

My wife Denise and I were watching TV the other night about a police program that was using a “bait” car. Basically the cops were leaving a running computerized car in a high crime rate neighborhood and waiting for some one to steal it. Once it was taken, the police would activate the car’s computer system to lock the doors and turn the engine off. Capturing the would be thieves red handed. Or do they?? Now, backing up here just a little bit… When I was a “young ‘en” My Grandpa, whom we called “Buzz” used to take us boys fishing. Well, just in case you don’t know anything about  fishing, you need at least three things. First off, you need a fishing pole. That holds the fishing line and basically it’s a rod that you cast the line out with. In other words, casting is throwing something out in the general area of where you think there might be fish. Second thing you need is a “hook”. The hook is a tool that is used to grab a hold of and to “pull” something in with it. Third  thing you need is bait. Now what is bait? Bait is something the fish like to eat or crave. They don’t usually bite on an empty hook. They need to be “tempted”. So what did us young boys do? We’d “bait” our hooks and cast out were we thought fish might be lurking. Well, the TV show did the same. Except they were using a computerized car for bait and people were the “Fish”. So the took their “bait” car to a poor neighborhood  and left it running on the side of the curb. So what do we have here? Let’s see. One, an empty running vehicle left in a poverty stricken area. Two, people that are being tempted.  And three, cops in unmarked cars “fishing” and hoping someone will take the bait.  And they almost always do. Good or bad, this is a “set up”. The cops aren’t really taking car thieves off of the street. They are searching for weak minded people  and tempting them. Would it be any difference if I walked into an AA meeting and threw a full bottle of alcohol out in the middle of them? One of them is bound to get up out of their chair and “go for it”. Why? Because I tempted them, that’s why. It’s human nature. Those poor guys on the street weren’t out looking for a empty car that was left with the motor running. But it was dangled in front of them. So they took it.  The were baited and they bit. Plain and simple.

This leads me to another TV show that does the same thing but is much more serious. “To Catch a Predator”. Chris Hanson’s claim to fame. I’m sure you have seen this show too. Now hang on before you lash out at me. Child Molesters need to be taken off of the street. That’s a given. But what about the show? Men show up to a house expecting to find a young girl and out pops Chris Hanson and a film crew. Before you know it, Chris is reading excerpts from chat logs that the guy has carried on over the Internet with the “bait”. But is Chris really taking child molesters off of the street? I say no. He and his staff are preying on lonely men that go from chat room to chat room willing to talk to someone, anyone. Most people know that almost everyone lies or stretches the truth online. They lie about their age, their education, their job positions, the money they make. The list goes on and on. These “sting operations” that Chris does aren’t done in one night. Meaning, they don’t sign on to a chat room that night and ask someone to come and see the decoy. They talk to these guys for weeks at a time. They would lure him back time and time again. They continued to tempt him over and over. Of course, the decoy would but would carry on with him or baiting him as it is known. And really, the decoys are adults disguising themselves as minors. So they are stretching the truth to entrap someone too. Have you ever did a research on the show? Seems there are several lawsuits pertaining to this type of entrapment that they are doing, or should I say “were doing”. The show kept trying to contact one guy that had stopped talking with their decoy after a few weeks. Apparently he got smart, but unfortunately the film crew went to his house to find out why and he committed suicide for them. His family sued, they were paid off and Chris Hanson’s show was canceled. That’s fair enough but he has ruined a lot of lives with the “fishing” he has already done. Wouldn’t it be ironic if someone set Chris Hanson up and busted him for something? He’s only human too you know. He has to have some vices too that no one knows about. I wonder what they are…

In closing, cops need to catch real car thieves and they also need to catch real child molestors and predators. Not the baited ones … Agree? Disagree? Dicuss …
