“Barton is currently beginning a 40 week investigation of a location in the Green river basin of Western Kentucky called Bigfoot mountain. Kickacts will keep readers posted on any exciting updates from the Kentucky Bigfoot Hunter!”

Hello Barton, and welcome to Kickacts. You and I go back a long ways, somewhere around almost 30 years, so welcome aboard my friend. You’re highly regarded and considered an expert on Bigfoot and other Mysteries and Legends. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

bigfoot    Hi, Chuck. Yes, we go back a long time. You know that, aside from being an ex-heavy metal singer, I’m just an ordinary guy. I don’t consider myself especially gifted one way or another. I have been investigating and researching unexplained phenomena for almost 30 years now, and I’ve been lucky enough (or unlucky enough depending on your point of view), to have my own personal experiences with much of the subject matter that I investigate and write about. Especially regarding the cryptozoological aspect of the unknown. I’ve personally encountered seven different varieties of cryptids in my life on over a dozen separate occasions. This gives me a certain perspective that most other self proclaimed “cryptozoologists” lack. While they are passing away the winter in front of their PCs and TVs, I’m out in the woods and swamps braving the elements and the unknown. My coat smells like campfire smoke year round.

You had an early experience with the Unknown. Eventually it became national known as “The Spottsville Monster”. Can you give us an idea of what was experienced by your family?

Back in 1975 my family moved into an isolated farmhouse near Spottsville, KY on the banks of the Green River. Read more…

Hamburgers, flashlights and Tornado sirens…

Tornado

As we all know  Friday 03-02-2012, that’s the day the storms and Tornadoes’ rolled through the Midwest causing much destruction and loss of life.  Thankfully we have weather forecasters’’ and they were able to alert as many people as they could through TV, internet, radio and the City sirens. I am reminded that not too long ago, (Okay, the 70’s) when I was a kid we didn’t have the advancements that we are blessed with today. No Doppler radar, or wind velocity maps. Just Marsha Yockey and her magic pin. So when storms blew “up” as she would say, my mom would gather us (my little brother and me) and have us sit on the bed, with our shoes on, dressed and ready to “go” if the storm got too bad.  She would sit there also on the bed smoking a cigarette in one hand and holding her purse and car keys in the other.

On more than one occasion we would have to bolt for the car during a storm’s furry and she would drive like mad to my cousin’s house out in the country to get to their basement. Not a lot of sense involved in that though the intentions were good. Get out of the house and into a secure basement. The trouble was that our “basement” was at least ten to fifteen minutes away or better depending on if my mom could see through the blinding sheets of rain and wind.  But we did this quite often really not knowing how bad the storm was or wasn’t. It was all up to her. She used to say after a storm had blown over that it was “coming back ‘round”. Ever hear that old saying? I used to think that the storm moved passed us, did a u turn and was “coming back ‘round again” to run over us again. Funny the innocence of my youth…

Howdy. I’m Nathan Germick, co-creator of “Planet Booty” with my brother Dylan Germick. Originally we’re from Northwest Indiana but have since landed in the San Francisco Bay Area. Planet Booty started as a concept album but has since evolved into a 6-piece electrofunk ensemble.

Is Dancing In The Streets The Worst Of All Time?

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

This has got to be the worst, I mean the very worst music video from the 80’s and, it is Dancing In The Streets.  Hopefully it won’t be the first image received from us by aliens. They will destroy us for real then. Opinions? How flaming is Mick Jagger in the Dancing In The Streets video? What is David Bowie wearing? Some type of leopard skin lingerie??? If he is , its looks way better on PINK in her video “U and Ur hand” . I love her song and the video but the lingerie part is at 2:38 if you can’t handle the truth…Bring back Ziggy Stardust.

Chad Estes and the Blackgrass Saints- Torn Down and Bleeding

This band features a good guitar buddy of mine that bailed me out one night at a gig in Henderson Kentucky. Someone requested “Mustang Sally” (PUKE)  and J.T. took the fall for me and played it for them. Super nice guy and a monster guitar player. This song is killer and I really dig the organic sound of it. Check out J.T’s wife Savannah blowing fire at the beginning of the video!!! Give it a listen!
