Heaven & Earth band WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

My new favorite band! It’s like listening to deep Purple, rainbow and several other monster bands of the 70’s. This song is freaking bad ass..The guitar player reminds me of Ritchie Blackmore..He is not a sweep king, he is tasteful and smooth…The Hammond is rocking all the way  through the song too.It really is Heaven & Earth! So set back and enjoy. this is destined to be a classic song! Check out the video!

Kickacts interviews Daniel Robinson!

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Welcome to Kick Acts. Tell us a little about yourself and your band and were you can be found at on the web.

danI’m Daniel Robinson, I am full of pizza, and weird ideas. I write songs with keyboards, sounds from your childhood video games, and sometimes guitars.

Who are your musical heroes, influences & why?

There are so many! I always feel that I am a listener first. That said, I look up to LIGHTS very much. I think she’s great at what she does, she’s got a strong sense of self, and she never ever compromises that. Plus, she writes some of the best songs I’ve ever heard! Other than that, my influences are fluid. My sounds tend to line up with whatever I’m listening to. Right now, I have been tracking some demos, and letting myself draw inspiration from Now, Now. They’re a band from Minneapolis, and they have an awesome lo-fi, etherial sound. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever heard! I’ve also been listening to my friends, The Breathing Tree. Their record, Traveller, is gorgeous. I’d love to be able to capture that sort of emotion.

Do you have any advice for someone just getting started in playing music? Any pitfalls they should avoid?

I have found that other people are very dangerous. Don’t concern yourself with what anyone else has to say. Being an artist is very possible, it’s an attainable dream, and a noble goal. Go for it, and never give up.

Do you have a greatest gig story you’d like to share?

One time, I played this skate park. It was super weird, and I didn’t fit on the bill at all. Throughout my entire set, kids kept wiping out! It was all I could do to keep from laughing.

I mean, that show was pretty bad. Nobody was into what I was doing at all, but I was definitely having a lot of fun!

Do you have any other hobbies other than playing music?

I make a pretty good latte, all of my Pokémon are above level 50, and I can run a mile in 7 minutes. I don’t know if that’s a long time or not, but I’m pretty proud of it.

What do you think about the present music scene or lack of?

Locally, Buffalo’s not really into pop music, which makes me pretty sad! I feel that a lot of good songs aren’t being heard because they don’t have enough electric guitars or screaming. It’s not 1998, pop music isn’t low-brow anymore. It’s grown up, it’s intelligent, and real. In general, I think there’s a lot of good going on. I’m constantly on the hunt for something interesting to listen to, and it’s not so hard to find lately!

Tell us something about each of your band members that we wouldn’t expect to hear… (Like their hobbies or something like that)

I watched about 6 hours of The Jetson’s the other day. It’s weird to see what people in 1960 thought today would be like. It’s not as cool, is it? I watch a lot of cartoons.

Hypothetical situation. You’re stranded on Gilligan’s island and you get to hook up with only one of the girls. Is it Ginger, Mary Ann or Mrs. Howell and why?

It’s the professor.

Our last question is called Shout It Out Loud. It¹s where you get to talk about whatever you want to talk about. So go ahead and SHOUT IT OUT LOUD.

If anybody knows where I can buy a tamagotchi, and they could tell me, that would be great. (editor’s note: I have a drawer full of them:)…

Please Re Post and share!THX 🙂

Billy Joel performs with college student
March 14, 2013, 10:29 AM EST

WENN

Billy_Joel_150Billy Joel made a college student’s dream come true by performing onstage with him in Nashville, Tenn.

In January, the singer held a question-and-answer session with students at Vanderbilt University when Michael Pollack asked if he could play “New York State of Mind” with the singer. Joel sang the tune as Pollack, 18, played along on the piano — and the star was clearly impressed with the teenager’s talent.

Bing: David Bowie to tour?

He told the audience, “Remember that name. … Guy’s got chops.” Speaking about the impromptu performance, Pollack told the university’s student paper, The Vanderbilt Hustler, “It was probably the greatest moment of my life, up to date.”

Recent Micheal Sweet interview

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

michaelsweet5Follow the link below over to sleazeroxx for an incredible interview. I would have posted a brief part of it but they have it sewed up where I can’t copy and paste a paragraph of it. That’s ok, go by and read the interview. It has some insights to why Robert wasn’t used on some albums, re records and other cool stuff. I give the interviewer 10 “In God in we trust” screams out of ten. Not sure I am buying one of the reasons that Robert didn’t play on one of the albums is because he lost his demo cd?? Go by and read it for yourself 🙂

http://www.examiner.com/article/clive-burr-passes-away

Former Iron Maiden drummer Clive Burr has died following a lengthy battle with multiple sclerosis at the age of 56.

An official statement on the band’s website reads, “We are deeply saddened to report that Clive Burr passed away last night. He had suffered poor health for many years after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and died peacefully in his sleep at home.”

Steve Harris commented, “This is terribly sad news. Clive was a very old friend of all of us. He was a wonderful person and an amazing drummer who made a valuable contribution to Maiden in the early days when we were starting out. This is a sad day for everyone in the band and those around him and our thoughts and condolences are with his partner Mimi and family at this time.”

Bruce Dickinson said of the news, “I first met Clive when he was leaving Samson and joining Iron Maiden. He was a great guy and a man who really lived his life to the full. Even during the darkest days of his M.S., Clive never lost his sense of humour or irreverence. This is a terribly sad day and all our thoughts

Gene Simmons banging Grandmothers?

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Well, apparently he did when she was around 30 years old or so back in 1975 during the drum solo…

Read on my friends and weep along side me. I’m sure at 70 plus years old this grandmother that Gene shagged now has leather th“interior” and waist high? boobs but at one time probably had a rock hard groupie body…It’s hard to believe that the babes of today will someday look like E.T. 🙁 So the next time you are checking out the hot babes in the videos or magazines (do they still make print magazines?) Just remember, its all headed south. There should be some “eternal law of tits and ass” that says that the girls of  “jackage” aren’t allowed to age at all. Every time I see that famous 70’s poster of Farah Fawcett I have two thoughts. One good one about those perky nipples sticking though her swimsuit and the second  and the sad one is she is in the dirt now:( Or as my friend Tim says “Completely Dead”…

Now how freaking depressing is that?

chuck

chuck@kickacts.com

Here’s the story from VVNMusic.

“We are now celebrating our 40th year since the first tour and Paul [Stanley] and I were in a Los Angeles airport and a senior woman – who I would say was in her 70s – came over with a cane and she said, ‘Oh, Gene Simmons, how are you? I haven’t seen you in forever,” he recalled to Australian radio show hosts Kyle and Jackie O.

“I think, ‘Oh, your daughters are fans, your granddaughters are fans…’ She said, ‘Don’t you remember? 1975 backstage, during the drum solo…’ So I did some quick arithmetic: I must have been 25 and she could have been ten, 15 years older. Oh my god, I slept with grandma!”

Krokus “Dirty Dynamite” and more :)

google.com, pub-2427795083793513, DIRECT, f08c47fec0942fa0

Here is Krokus‘s new single release. Not bad. Seems they are returning to their roots a little bit. Kinda reminds me of Nazareth or maybe AC/DC with Bon Scott.

I have included some of my favorite Krokus songs too 🙂 Enjoy.
